Is this thread entirely BS? This exact same car, with same photos is in eBay right now out of CO.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/17...Sfuzk9ijySJklRN4WfrV dqC%2BWtGEKVSpqeqmUwOWS1OGxDamZR%2BQF45PGYQNeGIMH%2BtA0ziJlhN6GkVXhL9OXkLoTWL0MulW1vcoY0Bems3%2Bn%2Bo1xuxYNSzlfp7lr1kyNXGN4lj%2Fig6QJ3x2dL6z%2FwxzqdQyMrpSCYuYfHQ%2Bag%2Bad39Ovz0v%2ByHzD5Ql7Latr%2Fv4yADI%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR47au_WVZg

Something is fishy here

Website shows it's sold. They probably forgot to take the eBay listing down.

The OP said he has possession of it.

You'd think the auto dealer would be able to handle something this simple a bit more efficiently, but you're probably right.

From the eBay listing...

This is a classified ad listing. There is no bidding on this item, so contact the seller for more information.

Or perhaps they leave the eBay listing up on purpose... so that they can tell interested parties... "Sorry, that car is sold, but might we interest you in this one or this one or this one...." Used car salesman are, after all, used car salesmen.

Good luck with your nice Fiero and hope to see you at cruise nights and at the shows. Carlisle every June is one of the best that draws over 100 Fieros of all kinds. Its a must show for myself.
. I have quite a few Fiero parts on hand here in Neshanic NJ . New and used at low discount prices. If you need something just let me know what you need. I am about an hours drive from Denville.

shes home... new exhaust on , a/c compressor , O2 sensor , cat, belts. i finally took it for the first short cruise . i put on the new rims and rubber. the tires on there were 2009 and cracks. shame because they had plenty of meat left. best thing is she doesnt sound like a blender anymore... the exhaust is musical and great to listen to (i bought the performance system off the fiero store). i still have a bit of a high idle issue i will be picking at. i have a new egr tube / valve / TPS / IAC coming. hopefully that gets it under control. ive replaced every vac line i could see... i just have to check the one to the brake booster. all in all , i really like the driving experience of this car. i will have a lot of fun with it

Very happy to hear that your Fiero is now running well. Since you have joined the ranks of the antique car owners, I would strongly suggest investing in a scanner tool. This will give you all sensor readings and dynamic engine parameters. There is a guy on this forum who has designed a good one and is marketing them.
Enjoy the ride.

replaced plug wires with taylor 8mm (seemed to smooth out much of the somewhat rough cold start.. who knows), did the egr valve , did some needed degreasing in the oil filter area . AND FINALLY TOOK HER OUT FOR A GOOD SHAKEDOWN! i am very impressed with the way it drives , smooth , no rattles, weird noises.. all the vitals were good. made sure the heat worked , temp adjuster worked , ac blows cold now. took the roof off and listened to some Y&T , some ELO... life is good. i do have a scan tool , but its for OBD 2.. guess that wont work. idle still shows a bit high 1200 warmed up , but it doesnt sound crazy or unusual... i will have to put my external tach on it to compare to the dash. i love the way this thing sounds... that fiero store "performance" exhaust is just right in my book. great tone and no popping or rasp. its very distinguished sounding. was going to stop and take some pics, but was in the zone. next time . ive been down the "antique" car road before.... its funny calling this thing antique, but i guess i am too.. was in high school when it was built. love this period of time.. you still get a vintage drive experience, but it is modern enough to keep up with todays traffic.

subwoofer is the only thing not working right now.... GRRRR...

let me know when you guys are having a cruise meet. shes ready!

There are a variety of shows and cruise nights that go on in NJ. The big ones down this way are Somerville and Flemington cruise nights. Up to 400 vehicles have attended. Most events in classic car season are now slowing to an end. There is a small Fiero club in North Eastern NJ and they get together often, but that's a bit far for me to drive my Fiero plus I prefer to stay away from NYC style traffic congestion with my classic vehicles. It's a scary experience when some driver is tailgating and riding your bumper in a Fiero. You can't do too much about that but you can increase your visibility by replacing your taillights with direct plug in LED lamps. The Sylvania VEVO RED 1157 taillight bulbs are the brightest that we have tested. Easily twice as bright as the stock bulbs.
If you having trouble are down this way we can scan your ECM with the Actron III and/or do a smoke test to check for leaks. If all is well its not necessary but Its a courtesy that I do for all Fiero owners. Enjoy the ride.

ALDL 1 ? Who is it ?

Does anyone know where to get an adapter so as an ALDL 2 can scan a ALDL 1 vehicle ?

Nobody will "know", as it doesn't exist.

Scanners for OBD2 will not work on an OBD1 system... or vice versa.

I paid $5,000.00 for this one. It also has an excellent repaint in a non factory color (needing some touch up). The front compartment color is also painted, as well as the door jams.

I'm glad you got it buttoned up. You are lucky many never have things that can easily be fixed on bad deals.

I hope this is a lesson for you and others. I hope it is a good car for you and not have anymore issues.

These are now old cars and when you start seeing color changes and other mods you need to be careful as they could be covering up a real mess.

Anymore I advise people to buy the best car they can afford as even low mile stock Gt's can be had for less than what you paid for the car and he repairs. Many spend much more to fix these car than they are worth.

To be honest anymore most cars are too expensive to restore unless they are a high end car. You can get a GTO restored for less than to do it your self anymore.
