I'm reaching out because I need to replace my driver's side window, which was hit and shattered. I found a replacement window glass on eBay, but it comes with everything still attached, so I’ll need to carefully remove the rivets.
Can someone here post a link to the hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.) needed to install the window? That would be amazing! I’d really appreciate any links or photos of the exact items I would need to purchase. Any suggestions on making the job easier would also be appreciated.
fierohoho: The rivets that hold the glass to the track are a pop rivet type, I removed the center pin of the pop rivet first with a small hammer and center punch, I did this to (5) five windows so far without breaking one, then I drilled out the rivets with a 1/4" drill bit.
There are, (2) two rivets that hold the glass to the track and there are (2) two rivets in these big white knobs that cause the window to tip in against the weather strip at the top of the windows travel when they hit the stops, if you remove them the window comes right out the top.

BtotheB: Definitely the easiest way to go is to drill out the four rivets, and just pull the old glass out the top. I used 1/4" by 1" bolts with matching nuts and loctite to attach the new glass into place.

Max The Chainsaw: I replace the rivets with 1/4 X 1 inch bolts pushed in from the outside of the door and nuts on the inner side

Ronnie: I just drilled out each rivet and then replaced the glass with screws & locknuts. Be careful not to use a screw that's too long so it won't scratch your new glass.

g2: One other suggestion, when you drill out the rivets, replace them with stainless steel bolts/lockwashers/nuts.
Replacing Fiero door glass is one of my least favorite jobs. Almost the entire door needs to be disassembled, inner panel and outer skins off, the dew wipes replaced , the rivets that hold the window plastic holding bushings need to be carefully removed. At times those bushings can get destroyed from the drilling and they need to be replaced. Problem is that new or repro bushings are not available. Its a job where you need to take your time and be careful . When you replace the dew wipes use a pickup magnet below each small screw as you remove them. . Those small head screws are hard to find if lost..

The plastic bushings that get brittle can be replaced by ford bushings for a Ranger and from a semi cab. Glass shop have them.
Amazon has drill bits for drilling rivet heads off glass.
The Fiero store has glass pads.
Just take your time.
Also most used glass is scratched. You can get glass polish to clean it up. It takes time as you go slow and low speed. I cleaned my old glass up for spares.
when i changed the window motor on my camaro i bought a quarter inch rivit gun from harbor freight.when i do the fiero i probably will use 1/2 long screws and nylock nuts.
Hello, I'd like to ask about a problem I'm having.
I replaced the motors and restored the all glass support. I reassembling it, the horizontal wheel always falls off the track. I can't find the fault. Whenever I raise or lower the glass, it pops out at the midpoint.

Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?
The window tracks are fastened to the inner door panel with two bolts that are adjustable. The window height is also adjustable with window stops. Sounds like you need to adjust the tracks by moving them in.

I'll try to modify it, but this doesn't go forward or backward, it goes up or down. But it always has a fixed point on one side.
Move the TRACKS that the window rides in not the mechanism. They are adjustable.
