I was wondering if anyone has seen the EV owner on this forum? I was on TikTok and saw a Prius parts swapped onto the body of our Fieros. (SOCAL area) I was wondering if anyone has seen this user, I just wanna ask about their conversion between our rotators and for EV rotators and motors.

no but i think the 200 hp system from a chevy bolt might be an easy swap.except for the battery.

There are or have been several EV swaps, including with a Tesla system, also I think a company tried to take the Fiero and make a "factory" EV, similar to the Mera and Quicksilver rebody options. Don't think they succeeded though, but there was a prototype I think.

Love to see how that went, bet GM caught wind and slammed a cease and desist on that poor person.

Marty from the GGF club also did one. He sold it a number of years ago to a couple of guys back east and I heard it went downhill from there.☹️

Probably 10 years ago there was a popular EV drag race somewhere up the Mid-Atlantic coast where an EV Fiero was quite successful. I can't find a link to it.

Todd had one when he still had the Fiero Farm.
It wasn't anything to write home about.

There is one being built right now in Cali by the designers/vuilders that built the recent high end Delorean EV. Not sure what the budget on the build as as they won't release details but the the Delorean build was allegedly $100k plus the car.

I viewed the video of the guy that has an electric Fiero in Northern NJ. That one appears to be well constructed but I doubt if he gets more than a 50 mile range. There was one displayed at Carlisle about 10 years back but the owner had to trailer it there and back. Both were "in town" commuter cars.
Electric cars are heavy, hard on tires, provide poor range and take a long time to recharge. With a fast charger I would say that it takes about 2 hours to get a decent charge and thats if there is a charger available. Battery replacement in 7 years or so could cost $10-$15 K. My yearly trip to Carlisle is a 3 hour drive 158 miles and one rest stop. I don't recall any charging stations on the route 78 to 81. IMO they are not the answer.
