Has anyone had a good or bad experience with the new replacement fuel sending units from the Fiero store. Several years ago I installed one as the original one in my sons 87GT was worn out and gave erratic fuel level indications. I installed a new one from the Fiero store but it never went to zero ohms, properly for an EMPTY fuel level, which of course is the most important indication. When I upgraded to the 3800SC engine and installed the bigger fuel pump, I replaced the newer Fiero store sending unit with a better used original fuel sending unit which I bought from a forum member. I worked with it on the bench until I could get it to read near zero ohms for a closer empty reading. It was disappointing to me that newer technology,(as claimed for components) cannot be made correctly for a 0 to 90 ohms reading for reliable fuel level indication. Just wondering if others have had similar experience with these newer units. The Fiero store is great to deal with and they have lowered the price on these units but they still should be accurate.. I haven't installed my TFS Fuel Sending Unit yet, but I posted a question last year. Here's the link. TFS claimed it would fit both 10 gallons & 12 gallons tanks, but the problem is 12 gallons tank is a bit bigger. So, you might have to do some adjustments. Read what others said on my thread.

I installed one last year. I drops to 1/2 and just sits there. I fill up every 200 miles or so, resetting the trip meter at every fill up.

Here's what one of our members did with his sending unit, built one from another vehicle. Page 13 of this post about half way down with pics.
