Had to order front calipers today... my mechanic said that I'd be better off paying $40for a rebuilt set as apposed to $95 per caliper to free them up... Cant beat it a guess
Epecting a whole bunch of parts tomorrow for the brakes and Rob is sending the sail windows and turn signal lenses... This project is going to be coming along very soon... now to find a tan interior.
Dropped all the parts off at my mechanics today and man what a ton of stuff. now just waiting on the front brake lines... i'm leaving the one working caliper alone for right now, once I get some extra $$ ill be replacing it.
It is back from my mechanic and man is this thing moving with a vengeance, it needs an oil change and some front shocks but they will be getting done this weekend.... Its nice having a driving fiero again.
Took it for a "I have one and you don't" ride around my neighborhood today, Love seeing my neighbors droll over it, But other than that just waiting on a couple parts.
Nailed down the problem as to why the headlights would not go up but still need a new motor at the ones I just bought ate no good, someone cut the wire to the headlights.....
We'll the exhaust tips are expected here today, My front shocks are sitting on the passenger seat, and EVM_rob is shipping over the taillights and sail panels. Once everything is here and on the car Its off to paint.
These were the emblems that the car came with that I will be using.. I was told all of them except for the horse and vin plate are authentic but it dose not really matter to me I have some others that will be going up in the mall that I wont be using
I began the replacement of the taillight, Rob sells the lenses and not the back sides to them So I had to pretty much break off the old taillight (felt horrible doing it) To expose the inner part of it, Now these taillights are held in by 3 studs that originally Drilled into the lens itself... I'm not going to take the risk of cracking the new lenses to drill new studs So I will be mounting the studs into the backing piece shown above and either rubber cement or epoxy the screws down with a nut epoxyed into it, Asl well as a heavy expoy to keep the lens down onto the backing panel... 1st off though I need to go get a small dremmel with a sander on it to clean up the back panel for the lens to attach
This post is going to be how I restud the housing for the taillight.. Little bit of background, The Stock mera tail lamps (well as they came to me) came with the studs drilled into the original lenses, through the back panel, through the body and bolted together, and the back-housing and lens glued together, so when you install the light to the body it is pretty much the lens that is holding the traillight to the body and not the back-housing. Robs lenses Do not come pre-drilled to accept new studs and I do not want to risk drilling them myself So I'm going to try another little trick to see if it works, If this dose not work I have another idea (more pics will be added to this post this is just what I have thus far.
1'st you need to separate the old lens from the housing, mine was already busted so I had no shame in doing this to it,
It left a lot of the glue and pieces from the old brittle lens left so I had to use a dremmel with a sander wheel and clean it up and rough it up a little
Now to restud it I'm using the same size screw but with a head on it along with a nut So the epoxy has something to grab onto and hold during reinstallation.
I fed the studs through the holes and now i'm waiting on the epoxy to dry and see how they hold.. If it dose not work from here I have another idea that will work somewhat the same way.

The holes in the rear panel are cut to match the shape of the reflector, I don't think the reflector would fit flush if it was on the outside of the panel.
Complete restud and seal.. Lined it up to the body today and it fit perfectly Stil a little worried about the studs when I go to tighten them down but I think it should go over fairly well. I might just use a vicegrip on the end to keep it steady, Over all though It sealed pretty well, Got a solid bead all the way around the light, Its right on center and looks clean (still have to clean the edges) but I think it will work, Im going to have to do the other side seeing as how the color is so off but no big deal now that I see how I can remove the lens without breaking it

you should let Rob mold the rear piece - i think that's much better than the stock one.

I have his lenses and I thought they came with the rear piece but I was wrong I guess, No big deal though these work.
From the looks of it, you're better off with the backs you have - they look shorter than the ones Rob has and the OEM ferrari. The short backs should give you more room to move your hands around when you change bulbs. Maybe Rob would trade you some emblems or some thing if you let him mold yours. i'd definitely be interested in having the short backs.
What do the backs for the turn signals (3 bulbs) look like - can you post a pic ?

They are the turn signals acutely, (rear ones) the red and amber ones both have a 2 light setup on them, Rob's have a redish looking amber color to them but when lit they show up As amber, As for the backs, Its not a real big deal as the 308 Has a TON of room for ganging bulbs, from the back end of the trunk section to the taillight panel you have a good 10+ inches of room to work with,
