“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been suspended from his own television show after calling homosexuality illogical, while proffering his male viewpoint preferring female anatomy to that of other men.
“It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus, ” says Phil Robertson. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
The Arts & Entertainment Network, better known as A&E, gave Robertson the boot Wednesday after learning of his remarks.
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
Robertson’s comments came in an interview with GQ magazine, where he championed biblical values and the battle against breaking God’s commandments.
“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong … Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he said.
Paraphrasing Corinthians, he says, “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers – they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”
“We’re Bible-thumpers who just happened to end up on television,” he says of his family’s instant rise to fame. “You put in your article that the Robertson family really believes strongly that if the human race loved each other and they loved God, we would just be better off. We ought to just be repentant, turn to God, and let’s get on with it, and everything will turn around.”
But Phil, 67, also indicated he’s not too concerned with how other people are living.
“We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ‘em, give ‘em the good news about Jesus – whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ‘em out later, you see what I’m saying?”

The homosexual activist group GLAAD is blasting Robertson’s remarks as “vile.”
“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe,” said spokesperson Wilson Cruz.
“He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans – and Americans – who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples. Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”
“The long knives are out for Phil Robertson,” noted radio giant Rush Limbaugh. “The left is hysterical. Rather than just let it go … they’re making a huge, huge deal out of it. It’s outrageous. But his views … they line up almost exactly with the views of the new BFF (best friend forever) of the libs, the Catholic Church.”
“I myself am a product of the ’60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together,” says the duck hunter.
Robertson continues, “However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”
Regarding the future of his megapopular television show, Robertson said the end is at least fairly near.
“Let’s face it,” he says. “Three, four, five years, we’re out of here. You know what I’m saying? It’s a TV show. This thing ain’t gonna last forever. No way.”
And on sacrificing the family’s privacy in order to spread the good word:
“For the sake of the Gospel, it was worth it. … All you have to do is look at any society where there is no Jesus. I’ll give you four: Nazis, no Jesus. Look at their record. Uh, Shintos? They started this thing in Pearl Harbor. Any Jesus among them? None. Communists? None. Islamists? Zero. That’s eighty years of ideologies that have popped up where no Jesus was allowed among those four groups. Just look at the records as far as murder goes among those four groups.”
I saw this on the news this morning and think we have become to PC for our own good, OK sure the guy doesn't represent A&E or whatever the network is, but he is allowed his own views when not on the show. while I am sure there is some line in his contract that says he can't say anything politically incorrect, but if it was me I would have told them, fire me and the rest of my family quits.
Screw them.

He didn’t show any hate or anything. He simply stated he felt it was wrong. Had he said they should all die or whatever, then, in my opinion, he would of crossed a line.
To simply say he felt it was wrong, then that’s his opinion and he is entitled to it. He even when on to say that he treats them with respect and lets “God” sort them out.
Comparing homosexuals to drunks etc.. lacks a bit of class however… but lets just be real here, there isn't much class on that show anyways...

You can no longer express any pro-Christian opinions without retribution.

“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe,” said spokesperson Wilson Cruz.

I don't think you can reasonably ask for a more Christian attitude than that. Cruz's problem doesn't seem to be any "hate" from Robertson, but that Robertson has the audacity to have an opinion different from his own.

Right, like A&E hadn't picked up on his frame of reference by now when he (all of them) refuse to do some of the scripts written for them due to their faith. They would have been better off saying nothing. To even act shocked is stupid.
But I bet Willy is banging his head on the ground right now. He didn't need this distraction to his brand expansion plans.

LOL! I had no idea it was a verse from the Bible. But I still stand behind my comment. Don't stand near me as I'm probably going to be struck by lightning...

If you're a believer, you believe God will judge everyone, good and bad alike.
Thats the thing i guess, we are all bad one way or another, but as the bible teaches, we can be forgiven.
The context:
" 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial."
1 Corinthians Chapter 6

If you know anything about Phil's past, this is not what he will be judged for. He turned his life around and can stand tall on his achievements but he has done some things that should always be a reminder about criticizing people. He needs to humble himself a tad in my opinion. But I don't like A&E dropping him from the show. There is nothing in what he said that every fan couldn't infer without the CQ article. Their outrage is stupid.

He alluded to that a bit

So Phil stirred up the Liberal Beehive and A&E kicked him off. I am sure its no skin off his back. Its pretty messed up that you can't have an opinion or a belief that isn't secular without repercussions. Phil was just simply telling what he believed in and what the Bible said. But he also said he would respect and love that same person, like the bible also says to do. Of course, the Liberals read past that part and conclude that he is a Homophoebe and full of hatred.
I do, and if asked youd probably say that. Might not lose your job over it either.
Nope, i no longer live my life that way ( honestly ). If i had to put a 'label' on my 'life attitude' it would be more like this now: "And it harm none, do as though wilt" A subtle difference i agree, but different.
2 points if you know where both of those came from

Unless the show is cancelled and moved to another network, it has the potential to reduce his income ( you get paid to be on tv ) and the 'free marketing' he gets from the show. Will he be living in a cardboard box and eating out of garbage cans worst case? No, of course not, but it will impact him.

This is insane. I don't know any history here and have never seen the show but on the face of it I don't see what was said that could piss of a reasonable person. No hatred, no animosity, nothing even degrading other than he does not see the logic.
True Christians were already judged through Jesus' death... there will be no judgment for them. Unbelievers when they die will immediately be locked into Hell until God calls them up for judgment, then final sentencing will be the lake of fire. How the lake of fire works compared to hell, I'm unsure, but Hell is the Jail, and the lake of fire is the prison.
I hope A & E loses Duck Dynasty over this and shoots themselves in the foot.

This.
One's OWN opinion. Period.
I have never, nor will I ever take a dick. But, I did vote for the right to allow others to do so. It is not for me to say how we are to love eachother.
Liberals want me to live like them. I just want liberals to leave me alone. They cannot. It is ingrained into their DNA that "I" am living wrong, and should adjust my ways to live like "them"..
There is always someone that wants me to live like them. Liberal, conservative, whatever. Someone is always unhappy with someone about something. If they could get rid of everyone that is different they would just start picking on each other until only one person remains. Then they would start arguing with themselves.

Much ado about nothing....from nothing. Have to admit that The Robertsons serve a purpose, though....SOMEBODY had to get those male viewers that won't admit watching Honey Boo Boo to the guys at the bar.
Phil Robertson has a constitutional right to say what he wishes. A&E is a television network, not an extension of the government, and this private enterprise decided to suspend an employee who said what they view as dumb things to a reporter. The freedom of speech does not mean the freedom to have someone PAY you for your speech.
The bottom line is.....Who truly gives a flyin' f*** WHAT some ZZ Top-lookin' MF thinks is paramount anyway?

The man has a right to his opionion, and if the P.C. or special interets dont like it--then TOUGH KAKKA. Its LONG past time these groups learned the simple fact that, guess what ? everybody on the planet DOES NOT agree with, support, accept or love you. You are NOT the center of the universe. Get used to it, and go find somebody who cares how outraged you are or how your pantie-waist feelings got bruised.
