As I said, those who claim to love their country most appear ready to give up on it. Somehow I doubt their love was ever true, only voiced when they believed it to be some advantage. I find new friends, too, those who don't just love their country when convenient. I don't care WHAT media says, if you want to walk away, do it and let's be rid of you.

That advantage seemingly........financial.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But claim it.

I wonder if those same people would leave because of other reasons, like say they were forbidden from practicing their religion?
Or would they stay and fight?

Would it be different because theres no money in it?

Louis Seidman, a professor at a liberal college, [url=http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/31/opinion/lets-give-up-on-the-constitution.html?_r=1&as reported by the liberal NY Times[/url], has suggested that our Constitution is outdated.

Our Dear Leader TM has suggested that our Constitution is a living breathing document, meant for the reinterpretation of it's words to today's meanings. Others in his regime have echoed his sentiments.
I bring this up 'cause, I am hearing more mumblings of the same thing. Did you know that our Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsburg on 1/30/12 said ...

I would not look to the US Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in 2012.

This in light of Egypt's Arab Spring overthrowing of the old Egyptian government.

Those people surprise me with how unwilling they are to try again and just give up on our country... and those kind of people are not exactly high on my list for handing out respect after learning they would rather take their ball and go home instead of striving to accomplish something better here. After all, thats what this country should be about.

How do you feel about people who want to, not take their ball and go home, who want to change the rules ?
See, this is not about the last election. It is about the direction of our country. Many are getting fed up with it and not just in Texas.
Heh, I will tell you this. If I see that there is traction to change our Constitution, I might help it along. Only to vote against Texas ratifying it. No secession needed.

Has anyone seen the proposal that the electoral college be modified. Right now voting in each state is done by districts, and the one who wins the most districts wins the whole states votes. The proposal is that voting is by districts period. That means each district gets votes in the final electorial college and state itself dont count. As an example, it showed that Republicans would have won more electorial votes nationally than Democrats for president during the last vote. Romney would have won by more than Obuma did with the current system and would have been more representative of voters wishes.

I believed and loved the US enough to ENLIST in the military when lots of people ran to Canada or were drafted. I volunteered to protect USA and fought for its beliefs. Right now thats about the only thing I now regret. Five years ago, I never would have thought or said that.
