Doesn't it also define a "tax" as a "penalty". Isn't that new?
"From the view of economists, a tax is a non-penal, yet compulsory transfer of resources from the private to the Public sector levied on a basis of predetermined criteria and without reference to specific benefit received."

If a tax is now punitive, that opens up a whole new world. If it was a fine, the individual mandate would be unconstitutional, but since it's a tax, it gets a pass. The door is open to all manner of new revenue to the government.
I wonder how that effects state laws that have already made the health care plan illegal? In Ohio was just recently passed issue 1 which (supposedly) made it illegal here. I know other states have done the same.
Well, if you look at what just happened with Arizona, states rights have already been obliterated.
Seems the local 1/2 price book store is having a closeout sale on constitutions, with "authentic boot stain". ( made in china )

I've been claiming for years that we're headed towards a civil war. I've never been able to put my finger on what the sides would be, but they are becoming clearer. The whole situation with the government is starting to snowball, they're taking more and more and giving less and less, and people are getting fed up. None of this is going to end well....

They're going to need to take in much, much more, 16-trillion for starters, not counting future liabilities. Fat chance stopping it too, after all, more than 50% don't pay any net federal taxes. Those folks are in the majority, the wealth takers, and polititions will cowtow to them to get themselves re-elected. Take a look at the current president, he's got the union vote since he bailed out the GM union pension fund, he's got the postal workers vote sine he partially bailed them out the USPS, got the hispanic vote since he's given amnesty to illegals, got the poorer poeples vote since he's given them health care for free.
Civil war? Well now, if you look at it, we're in one right now, just not declared yet.
What ever happened to self destiny, self responsibility? You want a roof over your head or food on the table, you go out and work for it. I worked my butt off to get a job that helps provide health care. I understand there's folks who need help, I help out even though I've got ramen noodles and spagettio's in the cabinet.
I guess what chaps my butt is that the majority of the american people protested against this health care in the first place, we got it rammed by the president, congress and it now got rubber stamped by the Supreme Court. Not that the nation as a whole shouldn't have done nothing, the health care bill is a crok, we sure could have done much better in providing for those unfortunates with other alternatives.
Civil war? Well now, my post here isn't very civil, isn't it?

Far more civil than many. And I understand entirely. The concept of personal responsibility has gone right down the crapper. It's all about "take care of meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" now, and our government likes it that way, becaiuse the more people depend on them, the more power they have. We are well on our way to become another socialist country that will flop. Most people are just way too stupid to realize it. They think the 1% have too much NOW? Hahahahahaaaaa. frankly, most will get precisely what they deserve.

There is still a chance we can save the train before it falls of the track, but we have been methodically setup for failure when we try.

"All right, let's sum up. This year in history, we talked about the failure of democracy. How the social scientists of the 21st Century brought our world to the brink of chaos. We talked about the veterans, how they took control and imposed the stability that has lasted for generations since. We talked about the rights and privileges between those who served in the armed forces and those who haven't, therefore called citizens and civilians."
All you have to do is cancel any credit card machine account and they cannot really blame you for doing so.You may lose business, though.. I am not so sure I will be running my shop on anything but Cash myself.. mostly to avoid extra fees associated with CC machines that you have to eat.

Just hike up your prices to cover the CC fees, then offer a discount back to your regular price if paid in cash.
