I work at at plant that makes breakfast cereal. 7 days a week and I make enough where im happy, the bills are paid and the little pile of debt is getting smaller.
Where are you getting all these nice people? Most of my "customers" are a PITA.
IT is a pretty thankless field except on payday. I make good food for people and it fills their belly and makes them feel good. It's nice to get feedback (no pun intended) on the meal you created for someone.. makes it feel worthwhile. As far as tattoos go, every session is very personal, and most people are pretty nice to the guy putting permanent marks on their skin.

It's a state of mind. In sales, it's easy to look at a person as a "wallet," or just as another interruption of your otherwise productive day.
Some people aren't really all that nice. It's my job to turn that around. I tend to use my disarming charm and self deprecating wit (as evidenced here on PFF) to break the ice.

I monitor the communications for the SCADA and AMR systems at the power company. But don't anybody tell my wife. She thinks I'm a piano player in a whorehouse.

I am the Director of Safety for a small trucking company. We have about 50 trucks and haul temperature controlled freight, primarily produce, coast to coast.
I have been in safety for just over ten years, but I was a flatbed driver for 27 years, hauling mostly lumber.

That's a nice way of saying "Hookin", but hey, whatever pays the bills. Me? I works at BJ's Wholesale Club, a retail store. I have now lofted the ball gently back into your side of the court sir.

House husband, personal shopper, chef, house cleaner, dog sitter, administrative assistant, laundry attendant, driver, and bodyguard. While the pay isn't spectacular, the benefits are outstanding!
I've seen threads like this in the past, and there are a lot of smart and talented folks on this forum.

I spend my days with over 105 7th graders who all have various expectations, abilities, work ethics, social issues, family problems, etc. I spend one hundred, eighty days a year with them attempting to make them proficient in mathematics and well prepared for 8th grade. Along with this I hope to instill in my students a basic understanding and appreciation of the Middle East, the rest of Asia, and Africa and how these countries' views of the world impact our life in the US. To make that task a bit more difficult, my administrators, the county, state, and federal government along with about 200 parents and step-parents all feel a need to tell me how I should go about teaching these students. Unfortunately, I'm unable to please all of the people all of the time, so I just do the best that I can. Just the same, I'm quite happy with what I do-most of the time.

Retired in 2002. Before that I was an chemical technologist in an environmental laboratory at Eastman Kodak. I spent most of the time analyzing for trace metals in environmental stuff. Prior to that I was analyzing stuff for trace metals in a quality control laboratory. That was when quality mattered at Kodak.

For school, currently working on a Nursing degree, should be finished in 5 years (3 year waitlist, + 2 years in clinicals if I pass my class this semester). Already have a Bible degree (BA in Bible) from Bob Jones University.
Full-time student here just a few hours away from you, but I think you knew that. I'm getting my bachelor's in Petroleum Engineering.
Last summer I worked in Houston as an intern for a very successful, small, independent oil company. I found a new way to test biocide performance in hydraulic fracturing fluids and had a few various smaller projects that taught me more about Petroleum Engineering. I got to see a well go from spud to the sales meter which was a cool experience for someone still in school. I got hired back on to come back this next summer and will be working in Denver. I don't know specifics yet, but I should probably be working more towards the economics of different operations. Next Fall I'm going to school in Beijing for a semester to learn more Mandarin and more Chinese culture. My company has offices in Malaysia and in Beijing, so it will give me a very strong portfolio.
I hope to work for the company I'm with now after school. I will probably get my Master's in Economics while working (night/weekend school). I hope to become a manager and manage operations in our Asian facilities. I'm excited for my future!
there are A LOT of IT people here. it shows you the way the country is really going. if you asked this question 10-15 years ago it would probably be a lot of factory work at different levels.
