For me Christmas is simply another day that merchants make a kazillion bucks. Too many folks place too much emphasis on "what and I getting" and lost focus on what the day meant in the first place.

I get what you are saying, but it's still basically their word against his, plus one copy of pm's that seems to be at least missing some information. I've read posts from all three for years, and only one of them has a history of stirring crap, jumping to conclusions, and lying.

I do not disagree with you at all. Jeff put it out there that he has no issues with any of his PMs being posted up. I only see one side of the issue, and based on what I see it seems that someone jumped to a conclusion. I have no dog in this fight, but it looks to me like Jeff is being broasted for nothing that he did wrong.

Lastly, and I am out - I'd be the last person to base an opinion of someone based on their past history of stirring crap. I've stirred my share in this life - not on the forum, but in life as a general term.

So who would that be? I will admit to a bit of crap stirring, and even the occasional conclusion jump. But what have I lied about?

I knew that the usual suspects would be along to add their knives to my back. They will never admit that they are wrong, and will likely add this to their litany of lies to be regurgitated at a later date.

I called the phone # he gave me twice and left a message and the phone # here. Never heard from him or his wife. She could have sent me a pm as to when she could speak with me.

I can sense a smal portion of your feelings towards Amanda. I have a young friend by the name of Joe who has cp. He is 11 now, but we have known him since he was 3. His parents were told that he would likely never be able to communicate. He know has a vocabulary of a four year old. It is still hard to understand, but the look of acknowledgment and satisfaction when he is understood make it worthwhile.

As far as where you are located, it really wouldn't matter if you were 30 or 3000 miles away. She is equipped to, and has in the past, done evaluations and consultations by Skype. Her specialty, as I mentioned, is Assistive Technology. That can be anything from making cue cards to portable speech generating devices. With the iPad2 and appropriate case and a $189 app from the app store and you have a very competent and easy to use communication device. If this could make her happier and more integrated into society, I have no doubts that it could be made to happen with the help of generous individuals. If by donating some time we could help facilitate this, I would like to help make that happen.

The generosity of some of the people on this forum just amazes me sometimes. I like to think that we are all good people on here and you and others like you never cease to prove me right.

I will tell you a little about Amanda. She is my youngest daughter and my angel, more important to me than anything else. She has been my reason for living and working as hard as I do.

Her verbal skills are limited and I even have a hard time understanding what she is saying sometimes. Which really bothers me, because well I just want to do everything for her. To make her life as easy and pain free as possible. She was in having back surgery when the first plane hit the twin towers. But even in the horror of all that she was the only thing on my mind. Not to say that wasn’t horrifying.

I was scared for her, scared she wouldn’t make it. Scared she wouldn’t be able to walk again after it. She has been threw so much in her short 22 years I can’t imagine how she does it sometimes. She is always smiling when we go play with the animals and you can see that she loves them. She is just like her mother in that regard, they both love animals.

She is my little angel, my reason for getting up everyday, no matter how much pain I am in. I think of all that she has endured without complaining.

I have to thank you Jeffrey for the offer of help from your wife but really don’t know how she could help. She was in special ed all threw school and had some great teachers.

She is understandable most of the time to me and Melanie. Soft spoken but hard for others to understand.

We are watching the Shakiest Gun in the West on DVD one of our favorites. To try and wined down from all that happened yesterday. I don’t think it scared her, she didn’t see the nut swinging the sickle at me, that was outside. She hasn’t said a word about it, cried or anything. When it was over I asked her if she was alright and she said yes. But I don’t think she really understood what was happening. How much we could have been hurt. so she is the one i am least worried about today. Melanie got the brunt of the confrontation and the only one who got hurt. Just bitten but still no one else got hurt. I think Heidi's little boy was scared the most by it. I sat him down in front of the computer and had him play some games while we dealt with the cops and statements

Now please everyone let this go. We will just not pay something that will allow us to buy her what she needs. Our place is paid for, our cars are paid for. The only bills we have are normal monthlies, lights heat, animal feed (but that makes our food bill just about nothing).

If we let our property taxes go for this year we can get her whatever she needs and it will not affect us except that we will have to pay 2 years worth next year.

Now lets all just let this go.

Before we all let this go it bears stating: As a 3rd party observer I have no dog in this fight but even with that PM it does not appear to me as though he offered to buy you an ipad. In fact, it appears again that he was offering his time and that of his wife's. I can see where one might jump to a conclusion, but I think he's been unfairly demonized if that PM is the extent of his omissions and with regards to "promises" made to you and yours.

I agree as well. To me all he has said was that an I Pad with the correct application would be a valuable tool. He also said that though donations from generous people you could probably get one. At most, he only mentions donating time to try to help facilitate people making donations towards this, he has not offered to give an I Pad.

So what is she supposed to email you about? You are the one questioning her qualifications to offer her help, as well as her very existence. I just wonder what your expectations are. Do you expect her to look past your psycho and invest in a relationship with you? Or do relationships fade in value next to shiny consumer electronics? I don't know what difference it makes, but I was looking around for a good deal on an iPod touch, which I believe is just as if not more appropriate device, but having never spoken to Steve or Melanie in a dialogue that would produce any useful information, I could not know. As far as my income, I don't know who you believe sends me a check every month, but I haven't gotten them. being disabled from getting employment does not equal "receiving disability" or "receiving unemployment".

I have always had the personal rule to not rate PFF members on OT posts unless they get too close or over the guidelines - very liberal rules that are loosely enforced by Cliff - but though I find Jeff abrasive at times, I can't find a lot of fault with his reasoning. there is a difference between being 'honest' and 'rude.'
