Hey matt you got a fun job there make sure when you replace the springs you dont mix up the front and back. MY brother in law mixed his up when we dropped it. Boy was it funny seeing the axle sitting at an angle. The fewer springs reduce load and give a softer ride. more spring will give you more load carryin and a little harsher ride. I am a believer its a truck not a cadillac i want to Cary weight not have the plushy ride.

I want to bump this thread because today, I had the first problem with this issue. I went down large "drop" and it really jarred the truck. My mistake, I didn't see it. But this knocked the spring off it's perch, and now the axle is sitting at an angle. I'm going to try to jack it up and see if it reseats itself like it was.

You could have that part welded, but find a replacement. If you go used, just replace the broken one. I had to do this on my old Chev. truck.

It's nothing super extreme, but here are some pictures I just took.

Something doesn't look right here.

And it looks like the diff is leaking... I'm sure the twisting of the axles isn't helping. I always thought the gear noise on this truck was a bit loud (manual).

I tried jacking it up, and while it moved a little bit back to where it was, something moved or bent, because it's not "springing" back to it's original spot. Trying to decide what to do.
