this whole process interests me.

phonedawgz has been on almost exactly a year, has 6800+ (yes, >18 per day) and has a non-informative profile, typical of trolls. he came up with the avengador 5-10 over quote mighty quick, too. watching him wriggle and spin makes me wonder if he came here for a particular reason. who got banned in the week prior to his registering here?

Trust me, I surely didn't post 6800 posts just to get someone banned.

Cliff has all my personal input from when I logged in.

I would think Avenger1 found my information the same way I found his previous posts. A google search. Google his name, and the word "speed". You will find his posts. I highly doubted he was telling the truth and with the amount of posts he has posted on here I figured the real truth was out there. It was.

It's the black and white thinking that argued him into the corner. Once he said anyone who was a speeder was immoral it just invited me to search for him to have said otherwise.

It's unfortunate that someone who has so many posts on here would be so arrogant to break the rules and get banned but it's what he did.

i doubt anyone is getting banned here, but between you, me, and avengador, you would be the easiest. iirc, it takes a ratio of about 4 negs to 1 plus (or is it 5/1?) so it would take several hundred negs to ban me, and probably a thousand or more to ban avengador.

hmmm, interesting, might be worth an experiment.

If somehow I could see how pressing the buttons to text K was inherently more dangerous than dialing the buttons to say K, you could convince me. Clearly it's not 100 times more dangerous to press the same amount of keys. I still have to look at the display to dial. If you called me I still would glance to see what the display says. Both operations are of about the same dangerous level.

Again when you say pressing the buttons to text K is 100 times more dangerous than pressing the same buttons to call, it clearly shows me you don't understand the 'gray' of EVERY activity.

Dont take offense to this phonedawgz, cause i like you, and normally when i read your posts, i agree with what you say, cause we seem to think in a similar way on alot of things.. But..

Your response to my post shows me that you, either didn't fully read my post, or you just didn't understand it. But based on your response, you obviously didnt take the time to actually read it. I never said nor insinuated that taking the time to type in a phone number to call, instead of just texting "K" was safer.. On the contrary, i would consider that even MORE dangerous.. People shouldn't be on the phone AT ALL, weather talking or texting while they drive down the road..

But i do hear, and understand your argument for other "activities" while driving, and agree with most of them..

Eating is definatly a problem when driving, i see it all the time.. At least one hand is busy, plus your stuffing crap into your face, a definate distraction, and i myself, dont eat while im driving.. Although ill admit, its not really safety that makes me not do it, mainly its because i drive a stick, and its a pain to try to drink a coke, or eat a burger or something while driving and having to shift gears..

Smoking while driving.. I guess that could be a problem, kinda a hard call on that one, and i am definatly guilty of it. But iv never felt the need to take my eyes off the road to smoke, or even light a cigarette..

You also mentioned messing with the radio while driving.. This one i do agree with, but it seems to depend on the person i think. Iv been riding with friends before that seem to need to look down at their radio to work it. But iv never had too, i guess i just know my way around my dashboard, i know where all the buttons for everything are without looking, so if having to "look" to fiddle with your radio is a problem for you, then maby you should get to know the interior of your car better.. I dunno.

One could even argue, well i know the buttons on my phone by heart (but not my stereo!) so i can text or dial my phone without looking at it.. Thats great! But when you want to read a text from your friend, you have no choice but to look away from the road, which puts yourself, your passenger, and all people around you in danger..

But hey, who am i to say anything.. Im not perfect, iv done my share of speeding, and breaking of traffic laws, especially in my younger days. But thats because i was young, and stupid..

Your a great guy phonedawgz.. So dont get too deep into this.. Just be careful out there ok bud..

Well I hear what you are saying re- no phone AND no texting. Actually that attitude makes some sense to me. Our state says it's ok to call but not ok to text. That's the attitude that makes no sense to me. Clearly there are people who are obsessed with the idea that texting is horrible but other distractions are acceptable. I'm not trying to say you are one of those.

It's a whole lot like when other groups get on the bandwagon for some particular cause. And they see the world in just the good and bad/ the black and white.

Yeah I see where I misread your post. Sorry about that.
---

I read somewhere that said in states that banned texting that the number of accidents from people texting hasn't dropped. The ban just makes people hide their phones more which in itself causes more accidents is what they said. I find that to be kinda dubious since it would be very hard to obtain those statistics.
---

I'm sure I have said it more than once, and I'm sure those who actually read my posts know this but I do not support the idea of texting on busy highways or city streets.

Happy New Year Cliff.

It sucks that the US is about the last country to get the New Year. I propose the US move the international date line so we can get it first. We own the UN right? I mean it IS in New York City.

Three more hours for us to get it.

I just want to make sure you read what i added, so you know, that while i disagree with you on texting or talking on the phone while driving, i totally hear wear your coming from when it comes too other activities people do behind the wheel..

But we all take our eyes off the road to look at the dash ect. We all do the glance around thing. So even if you have the buttons of your dash memorized you still look at your gauges. You still look at other things.

Again it's I'm not trying to argue that texting is a good idea, but what I am saying is texting is only a different distraction. There are also a lot of other distractions.

Well. yes. it's called paying attention to what's going on around you. Tunnel vision is bad in a car, you need to know what's happening all around you so you can respond. One must check their speed in order to know if they are within it's limit. Glancing at your mirrors, over your shoulder for a lane change or at your dash gauges is a very poor example. Those things are taut and required for driving, if you don't do them you will fail your behind the wheel test.
