Lol thats what happens when you send a cherokee to do a wranglers job... Plus im not going to be doing that kind of sh*t.
Why not???? are you going to be one of the people who go and get their truck dirty in a puddle, not wash it off and say you went "wheelin"? If you have a lifted jeep you get lockers, dual transfer cases and if you have some money a nice 4 link set up in the rear. Then you take it and CRAWL it.

Its already got lockers on it. Basicley im not going to do what kind of rock climbing stuff because my jeep i dont think it high enough for it and its way out of what i want to do to my daily driver. But I might do some trail running in it and such. I still cant get over this top on it though.

Its plenty set up to go where ever you want. I go on the rubbicon every year in a toyota truck with a 4 inch lift and 32mtz tires. Other than that its stock. Its all in the driver.....
Damn... That video was crazy!!! I'm looking into a Rubicon manual trans for myself..A four door 4x. Anyone have any concerns about those besides the loss in torque

I can almost gaurantee that the first time you take it out to do some remotly semi serious off roading (and im not talking about in your friends backyard) that you break something.
Just because the truck looks like it can handle the rubicon dosnt mean it actually can! stock Wranglers are awsome on the street but the minute you start to really push them you will often hear the dreaded POP SKINK of the axle breaking.
Oh and btw ive been mudding and building jeeps, yotas, and the Big 3's trucks since i was little so dont think i dont know what im talking about.
im fairly certain my aswell as Antuzzis jeeps could run circles around yours in the mud quite easily and without mercy.
First truck was a 77 Ford F250 4x4 lifted 16 inches with 44 boggers, 251 and a full resto started by my neighbor at the time, 2nd was a 85 Dodge Ramcharger Prospector 4x4 with a 360 bored .40 over lifted 10 inches and with 38 boggers done soley by me 3rd was my Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser that was lifted 8 inches had a 350 in it with afull rebuild and resto with the impossible to find hard doors and fiberglass top, 35 inch tsl thornbirds and dual exasut thru the hood. then came my 90 Burban wich since money was tight we so far have lifted 4 inches, blacked out every imaginable thing, dumped a 351 from jasper into it, threw on 6 bolt General lee style rims and 33 inch tires and straight piped the exhast. now its the 95 Cherokee sport i threw 4.10 ratio axles off of an old Kaiser and reworked the computer and exhaust.

For one Auntuzzi dosent have a jeep. That was a video of some idiot rock crawling and flipping the jeep completley backwards. 2. This jeep is nothing. I have drivin/ operated crane trucks bigger/ longer than an avrage every day see house so this jeep isant anything i havent handeled before. This jeep was done right. Everything all the way down to the axel's i have to go through all the reciepts for it and all of ther stock parts i have for the jeep but its equepted properley for what i want to do with it. Plus anyone could run curcul's around me right now because i have never been off roading before. I need some pratice when im ready.

i just found a low mileage 99 with the 6 cylinders for around $3k. had to pass it up, id much rather get another small sporty car lol
damn I wish I could find something anywhere close to that cheap around here. My wife has always wanted one but we always shy away from them because of the price. I would action every night for 6 months if I came home with that

If you count all the ones he "almost" bought, it would be about thirty...

I thought I was bad, but you are honestly worse than me.
Nice new Jeep btw, I always considered getting one to beat in the summer and bombing olive drab with old military insignia on it.

Christ I hope you got earplugs with it. That is a copy of one I bought in 80 I think. It had the canvas top and doors. The tires were similar as well. I sent it back to the dealer within a month. The top and doors made more noise than all the convertible cars I owned and rode in my whole life.
Nice find just make sure you have ear plugs in with those tires if you go far on the highway.
I got mine just to go fishing with and took it to work one rainy day and was almost deaf by the time I finished the 26 mile trip. I hope yours is better than mine was.

Isn't this supposed to be the "reliable transportation" your granny wanted to buy for you, because the rest of your cars are so unreliable?
Basically, you have 2 choices now:
1) Take your ORV off-road, like it was to meant to be used, and end up with another beat-up unreliable vehicle 2) Be the douche who never takes his ORV off-road, because it's the only reliable vehicle you own

Here's a serious off road vehicle for yah.... video below
I wanted to say also on the Rubicon, that the sway bars detaches with a button for rock climbing. Great low gearing for when you need it.. There is a S/C kit for them to bring up the hp to 290ish.
I always wanted a jeep but we'll see..It'll have to be a hard top and my wife wants the four door. I own a 97 ranger now ext cab 4.0L 4x4. It has a 6 inch Superlift kit and I rarely got stuck. I've been off-roading for awhile now but my truck has 213,000 miles

Its reliable enough. for me. Im not going to do anything big and exciting off road. Just going on trails and stuff like that. Stuff a stock jeep can handel. I really like this jeep. It runs great and drives great. And i think it will do really well in the winter. I had my mechanic look at it and he said the whole thing is sound. He said theres nothing on this jeep that looks like its anywhere near breaking and should be a good DD for me.. It is a bit thirsty though. Lol and cliff you were right the chicks Dig it I looked at it more and it also came with an EDGE throttle body. This jeep wasent cheapley put together. A lot of love time and $ went into it... I love it.

Now I'm really confused. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the reason you didn't want a truck because you would be tempted to go off road? Or maybe it was your dad that had a problem with you having a pickup cause you'd be tempted to go off road. But, this really doesn't make sense when compared to the other posting I read about granny buying you something reliable. I really don't care and if you said that just so you wouldn't hurt somebody's feelings that suggested you get a pickup but, this really goes against what you said in the previous thread or where ever I read it. Personally, I think you want something different, cool, whatever and a pickup just didn't qualify for you. That's OK with me but, it's still confusing.
I always wanted one, until i heard about the 15mpg... Even back when gas prices didn't matter the range did.
Yeah, well if mpg is the goal, it's not likely a Jeep set up like the one being discussed is gonna be very high on the list. Don't get me wrong, I used to own one similar to it. Loved it but, it was not the king of the road when it came to mpg.

I'm guessing we are dealing with a lot of immaturity.

It doesn't matter to me what he drives, I am simply confused. But, in all fariness, if it's OK for you to do it, why not others? Again, I don't care what he drives but, it does seem a little confusing and all I did was point that confusion out. In all fairness, am I wrong on him not wanting a pickup for those specific reasons? If I am, I apologize here and now. I didn't ride him hard like some of the other posts I read which, included yours. I'm not picking on you either but, think about it.
