(Yeah. I know. Sometimes it just doesn't matter.)
Yet, some people (who seem to be having a much more difficult time of it) seem to be able to take it all in stride.

I knew I was going to miss something. I know of several people, over the years...

If I'm in that state, I'll just make them keep me "out of it". I believe a living will will cover that.

Hang in there... I can't understand it right now, and I hope I never do... but just hang in there.

Will you still call me superman?

We all get put on a pedestal by someone, when we fall we sometimes fall harder on ourselves then what others would believe possible. Talk to someone, don't hold it in. If you cant talk to someone then take a walk away from it all and just yell. You would be surprised how much better you feel after you just yell until its all out. Sometimes it takes breaking ourselves before we are able to heal.
Then put the cape back on and get back in the game!

I have been there....suicidal. Wondering why God mad me the way he did (gay - I'd give anything to be straight - normal, accepted by society). And considering that I am a horrid thing that cannot be redeemed and should just kill myself. The last time this happened I had just lost my partner, Felix (2008). But soon thereafter I discovered that I had a son (yes I pitched for the other team once - I was extorted into it by my mum - long sad story that). Everything changed. I decided that life was not so brutal after-all. My kid is the light of my life (next to my partner - they are equals). Sometimes I still think why is life worth living if it only leads to death. Then I look in my boy's blue eyes and know life is worth living! Even if things never turn out the way we wish. Roll with the punches. Life is a gift. It ends too soon anyway.

Tut, my buddy...

Being gay is not bad. Those who don't accept you because you are gay, would likely not accept you for yet another reason if you weren't. Those people are jsut assholes. Plain and simple.
Almost all of my friends are gay. I don;t go out and specifically look for gay folk to hang with, but they are generally the nice, polite and intelligent people in the crowds. The type I want to be associated with.

You should be proud to be part of a community that is one of the wisest and strongest groups of people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

An old friend of mine used to beat himself up for being gay all the time. It was a nearly daily thing for him to have a good cry on my shoulder over it. But in time he made friends with other gay folk and became quite the socilaite. Hell move here to TN, I will introduce you to all my friends and you can come hang with us.

Being gay is really not that big of a deal, and I don't think it's really an issue for most people... but, I'm not an expert on it. The biggest complaint I've heard is that people's parents often times don't support their lifestyle... so I guess that's what probably causes most of the dismay. For things like this... I have to defer to my great uncle Karl Jaspers... the father of Moral Subjectivism. He was sort of a psychopath... yes, but he also makes us realize that being "normal" is what we make it out to be, not society.

EDIT: What is with the alias? Have you ever been to Egypt? I went when I was a kid... one of the coolest trips I had the privledge of going on.

Many times. And the thought is always in the back of my mind in one form or another.

Next Question" Would I do it? Simply put, no. I happen to not believe in suicide...Its the easy way out and a cowards death.

Edit: I should have read this thread more before I posted Particularly the last few posts.

Tut, pm me your address, I have something I'd like to send you if its ok by you. Something you may find interesting and helpful. I have to agree with T/A on this, being gay is nothing to be ashamed of. If it is normal to you, so be it. Normal and abnormal, right and wrong, good and evil, etc. are all in the eyes of the beholder...

Thanks for the support everyone. I really appreciate it.

My screen-name is a reference to university days. My minor was ancient history. We took a field study course for archeology in Egypt one winter and another student, upon seeing Tutankhamen's mask in the Cairo museum thought I resembled the Pharaoh. So the nick name stuck for a number of years and I have used it as a screen-name often. I'm not Arabic or Egyptian though, Anglo-Celtic through and through, so the resemblance is just a curious effect I guess. It seems the ancient Egyptians looked a lot more "European" than modern Egyptians do anyway. Probably indicating an influx of migration from the near east about the same time Europe was being settled by ancient man. Possibly a branch of the same Indo-European genetic tree then mixed racially with the native black African population. Today's Egyptians are mostly descendants of the Arabic conquest of Egypt in later centuries (many in the north BEING Palestinian refugees). Anthropology is fascinating as well.

Yeah, Egypt is cool. Too bad today there are so many radical Muslims in Egypt! There have been too many attacks on tourists as well.
