Just wondering if anyone went to see it last night and what was their impression of it? I didn't get to go last night and was wondering if it's worth going to see tonight.

I figured they'd stray too far off of the original G.I. Joe story and characters. The more previews that I see of it the more I want to see it. Did they leave it open for a second one or maybe a series?

They didn't stray too far from the cartoon series stories of the characters, but they did change some things about the characters' inter-relastionships. It actually was a pretty good movie. Go Joe! p.s. They did leave it open for more movies to follow.

Still haven't had the chance to see it. But since you're all raving about it, what else can I do but give it a chance? It'll be better to go during the week anyway, less ricers to bug me when I pull into the parking lot. They all hang out at the movies now, since on the weekends the Malls here card you and require you to be over 18 to walk around unsupervised.

Oh, your one of them. You probably blew some of the ones up that were worth quite a bit of money too. Last year I sold all of the Joes that I had to a local collector. I had around 300 figures and about 120 vehicles/accessories. He bought it all for $3700 and that was just below book value. Had to sell them to pay some bills.
I don't remember when the G.I. Joes were larger. I remember the 4 or 5 inch tall plastic action figures. I had a bunch of those... Even a not sold in stores (at the time) hooded Cobra Commander. I think you had to collect the upc codes from the G.I. Joe stuff you bought and order it from Hasbro. I got a Cobra Hiss Tank that way also.

The small ones were 3 3/4". They did have 12" ones before those I think in the 60's or 70's. They also brought back the 12" in the late 90's I think.
I can remember all of their code names......I'm 37 so thats just sad, ain't it?

Yup I was a kid, back then you could buy a bag full of them for a buck. Who could have known they would be worth so much now. We’re talking over 40 years ago.
