Hey D B, what brand is that second A-10 on this page?
Thanks
~ Derek
The first A10 is the GWS (brushed edf55 version). The second one is a Flying Styro. Their kits are a lot more work to assemble and not forgiving of any hard landings but the detail is amazing.

I will soon, its been cold, rainy and very windy for weeks. Also car shows keep me pretty tied up. Just gotta wait for the right day. I have flown it in my Real Flite Simulator quite a bit. Its even set up to simulate electric or gas power.
I love the aircraft editor in RealFlight; it's nice to be able to tweak the planes to fly more like the actual model. I'd bet that little sim has saved me more $ in crashes than it cost me to buy.

Yup if you fly or try to fly enough, you're going to crash sooner or later. I love RC planes, like to scratch build WWII war birds mostly. Can build them quite real, very detailed and can crash them very real-like too. Full scale scratch-builts make lots of splinters!
I also scratch build RC warships. I have an 8 foot model of the WWII U.S. battle curser Alaska CB1. They were called heavy crusers to confuse the Japanies, but their 12" guns and size (over 800 ft) made them battle crusers. I'll have to take some digi pictures of it next time I put it out on the lake and post them. Neat thing about RC warships, they don't tend to dive into the ground like RC airplanes. Did have to swim out and get it once when the tiny motor that turns the radar decided to create an RF sig that suddenly trained all the turrets to port and locked the rudder in tight turn way out on the lake.

I've put a couple new planes together for this summer; and been out to the flying field pretty much every nice day lately. Just figured an update was in order...
65" wingspan Hangar 9 P-47D 'Jug' (converted to electric power) - I found a scale John Wayne for a pilot figure
I've had my Corvair for over a year, and never had the nerve to try to fly it I've had several trials at taxiing it on the rod by my house, but it never got up to take-off speed. Well today, I just said 'Go out and try it!!'...so I did. hand launch, full throttle...and it promptly rolled over to the right, and crashed very hard into the ground Went and picked it up, and the prop had been pushed right up against the cowl I pulled it back away from the cowl, and the prop was free. So I recharged the battery, took it outside, trimmed the tail rudder and the rear flaps to try to get it to go up nstead of down...and it did the same again. Rolls to the right and goes into a suicidal dive. I gave up then, and put it backin the garage, and walked away. Funny really...I plucked up enough courage to finally risk smashing it to pieces...or getting it to fly..and failed o both counts!! Anybody want a Corvair R/C plane? Hardly damaged Honest!! I was going to buy online one of the F105 ducted jets...but figured I would be wasting even MORE money...but they do look fantastic in the videos on eBay!! Nick

Ive got a new T-bolt, Corsair, 172 Cessna and a Cessna twin. None have been flown yet. This has been a very windy summer. Anytime the winds not blowing 15+mph, Ive got something else going on.

That's a bummer. I have an 80+ mph electric Ultra Stick I'll take out in literally any wind conditions. But it's been beautiful wind and weather conditions about half the time around here this summer, so I've had ample time to play with the whole fleet
These are all like 3-4 foot foam park flyers and dont handle any wind well. In winter we have a big huge dome we rent to fly in. I do have a 200 mph, 6 foot turbine powered F4 Phantom from Yellow Aircraft . I wouldnt fly it on windy days either...to risky with a value of around $3,000.
