From the last sory you posted.

"By Donna Willis
E-mail | Biography
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A 6-year-old child was bitten by a pit bull Wednesday on the city's southeast side.
The incident occurred outside a home on Upton Road, NBC 4's Tom Brockman reported.
According to witnesses, several children were playing near a fenced area when someone opened the gate. Inside was a pit bull. That's when, officials said, the dog attacked one of the children."

<snip>

So which one is it I wonder?. This story says "somebody" opened the gate. I could swear that I read one of the kids did it in a previous story.

ok - next Q - how high does a fence got to be? is a 2' foot fence w/locked gate sufficient? 3'? 6'?
locked gate/fence is not enough in most cases. especially with larger animals.
just about every larger dog can EASILY clear the standard 4' chain link fence, with no problem at all. what good is a locked gate?? your responsibility increases with the size of the dog. sorry. I just dont understand why people would assume what works for a smaller dog is fine for a larger dog. the rules/laws should add room based on size, weight & strength of the animal - not just generic "dog".

Dalmation is a great example. large animal. bad attitude. attracts kids. no 4' chain link fence is gonna contain them. yet, "locked gate" is the law. that is NOT enough. the animal can easily clear the fence/gate.

anyways - anything YOUR dog does is YOUR fault. YOU control its world. Take some responsibility for YOUR stuff.
same goes for YOUR kid. what YOUR kid does is YOUR fault. Take some responsibility for YOUR kid.

This was a 'below the adult knee 'sized dog, Pyrthian, according to the picture attached to the story. This is getting silly
