I haven´t eaten a Mcdonalds or the like, for over 3 years. The other day, I didn´t have time to get home, prepare a meal, and get ready for work..so I had a MacDonald´s 'Big Mac' meal...and within an hour, I was regretting it. My stomach swelled about 3 inches, felt really bloated, and bad indigestion...I won´t be eating any more ...ever. They are SOOOOO NASTY!! I read somewhere, that on average, red meat eaters have around 8lbs of undigested meat in their intestines when they die...hmm...can´t find the link...but I can well believe it Nick

Oh Lord, if that's true, I'm carrying a half a beef around.

i eat fast food about once a week. about once a month i have the same problem. i think they change the oil at the end of the month and skim off the top once a week, so by the end of the month there's some nasty stuff in there. burger king, macdonalds, doesnt matter, same thing.

McDonald's is supposed to filter the fry vats every day, and change the oil every 2 weeks for french fries, and every week for Filet 'O Fish. (gotta have separate vats, or the fries taste like fish). Basically it's drained and pumped through a big machine with a filter that looks like a huge coffee filter. That catches all the crumbs, etc. and you pump the filtered oil back into the vat and top it off with fresh oil. (McDonald's calls it "shortening". When cold, it looks like Crisco)
Now that's how it used to be done way back in the dark ages when I was a teenager slinging burgers. But then, we also cooked the burgers fresh during the day rather than pull cooked patties out of a steam tray.

Maybe you're thinking of beverly hills cop. I know "Rosewood" was pointing that out to "Tagard" while on 'steak' out duty.

hmm...now - is that undigested meat accumalative? or is it just that it takes so long for it to make its way around & out, that theres about 8 pounds worth on the exit trail?
and..being a serving of steak is around one pound, and a hamburger is 1/4-1/2 pound.....lets see....5 rib-eyes & 6 wendy's dbl's.....hmmm...nice thought...

Probably that would be lean meat too, if I were to believe teh 8 lb. thing. What percent lean do you think fastfood is, maybe 50%? Fat slides thru ya like hot butter!

Nick, don't be too convinced it's the burger that caused the problem. I eat at McDonald's every one to two weeks. For me, the burgers are fine. However, if I eat their fries I have the same symptoms you described.
There’s more than just potatoes in McDonald’s fries, and whatever it is my system (and maybe yours) can’t tolerate it.
