Being young and raising a family is pretty tough. It does take money you can use to get a nicer vehicle, no matter what you have. You give up alot also. One being your ego. Somewhat. A man needs an ego. Also a mental release from the responcibilities. A man's car is a release. Maybe this is all he can afford for now. My stereo was important to me when I was in his shoes. As far as mocking him, I have seen cars that come into the shop where it is just filthy. It forms an opinion. It wouldn't be an opinion if it were not shared. By sharing an opinion, one has a chance to re-think it based upon feedback to it.
I completely understand, cliff, but I don't think he's being particularly savy monitarily by compounding unnecessary expenses. I certainly can't speak for him, but in many cases, having wife and kid at age 20 is not a well thought out or planned decision. One might go as far as to call it regrettable in some cases. With that decision being irreversable, future decisions should take that into consideration. As you say, supporting a family at age 20 is not easy. Spending significant amounts of money on your car/ego, especially a car in poor condition, could also qualify as a regrettable decision down the road when that money is needed for necessities. Having a car that runs can be considered a necessity, and spending money to keep it running is justfiable. Having a car that has a lot of expensive add ons and electronics doesn't qualify as a necessity in any book. All I'm saying is, he's further jeopardizing his financial future (and that of his family) with frivelous expenses in the name of his ego. One regrettable decision is bad enough, multiple regrettable decisions can bury you.
I'd be willing to bet that he was doing it on 03-07-2005 at 09:48 AM. I don't know one single person that works in a service industry that does what Ken is expecting Oslo to do.
Ken you are trying just as hard if not harder to make Oslo look like a fool on this forum than Oslo tried to make the Camaro's owner look.
Edit: Well said Fastback 86.

You know what Ken? I was trying to be nice to you, but all I ever see of you around here is you trying to teach a lesson, or tell everyone else how wrong they are and how to fix themselves. You are nothing more than a self-righteous troll. I was sincerely interested in your relationship to this Fiero forum, and now I'm not. What's your problem? Do you always have to invade topics and explain what everyone else is doing wrong.
I couldn't agree more. Ken seems to have a personal agenda to go around and tell everyone why what they've said is wrong. I don't believe I've ever seen a positive remark or a post where he isn't putting someone down for what they've said. Ken, you've obviously got some anger issues you are taking out on people here at the forum.

man you kids got a lot to learn, and unfortunately you are determined to learn it the hard way
nobody says you have to like or admire every customer who walks through the door. All you have to do is treat them with respect. Look it up in the dictionary. Look up 'dignity' while you are at it. When you pull out a camera AT WORK and take photos of a customers car so you can POST IT ON THE INTERNET and tell everyone what a jerk your customers are
you have no respect for the customer/client relationship, and you rob that man of his dignity.
all you have to do is KEEP YOUR BIG MOUTH SHUT! you can hate the guy, you can think he is a complete idiot but keep your opinions to yourself.
So now by my objecting to people being treated this way on our forum, IM the bad guy and poor little Oslo is the victim?
Is that how it works in your world? All that matters is how many points you scored on someone else today and your feelings?
You are telling me you speak for the entire service industry now, and nobody is able to respect the relationship they have with their customers?
I dont think so. You are in for a rude awakening.
You really think you can do whatever you want after 5 oclock? you want your doctor discussing your medical history at the corner bar tonight? you want your kids teacher talking about your kids to the neighbors? you want the guy who cleans your carpets telling other people about what goes on in your home?
The idea of 'professional' is totally lost on you guys.
And the worst part is, you have been treating people this way for so long you are totally oblivious that you are doing something terribly wrong to the point that YOU GET UPSET when someone calls you for it.
Isnt there anyone left on this forum with an ounce of integrity?
Oh come off it, Ken. There isn't a worker out there who doesn't b**** about work once in a while. Don't you dare tell me you've never once complained about something at work when you were off the clock.
BTW, doctors don't talk about patients (supposedly) because there are laws that carry penalties much heavier than getting fired preventing them. I work with teachers all the time, and believe me, they talk about the kids in their classes.
uh, yeah, Ive got links on other internet forums pointing to Oslo's thread here, and Im mockig him out in ten different places
but here on PFF im all kissy kissy face with him
?!
At least I have the guts to tell Olso what I think, person to person. If you think your customer is white trash, then have the gonads to tell him to his face. Go ahead, laugh in his face and see where that gets you.
But no, you snivel around like a weasle, take the guys money, work on his car, then you laugh at him behind his back.
CLASS! PURE CLASS!
Can you be any more hypocritical? You're mocking Oslo on 10 different forums and you have the gall to call him classless? Absolutely incredible.
Here's an idea: why don't you STAY on those other 10 forums. You don't seem to have any friends left here.
Sarcasm? Stupid is more like it. Besides, you've shown that your enough of an asshat to do something like mocking him on 10 other forums, so why shouldn't I believe that?
My own humble opinion is that it wasn't a very cool idea to post derogatory comments of a customer's car complete with pictures. It would be one thing to simply describe the car, but to take pictures of it and then post them on the ‘net is a bit much. It’s like opening Pandora’s Box. Once the images and derogatory comments get out, there’s no way to ever undo what’s been done. By posting those images (instead of just describing the car), there can no longer be total ambiguity as to the actual owner of the vehicle.
If I was this customer and I found out about this kind of activity, I’d be furious. I don’t care how good the service was, I’d never go back. Whether it was because I was embarrassed or angry, it doesn’t matter. I’d also convince anyone I knew in the slightest not to take their car to this shop as well. It probably wouldn’t take much convincing because who the heck would want to chance being mocked in a similar fashion.
I believe this is what Ken was referring to when he said he would can an employee who would ever do this to a customer. Although I might give a second chance to such an employee (depending on many variables), I would have to agree with Ken’s point in this situation.
Sorry Oslo, but I believe you demonstrated rather poor judgement in this thread.

Ken, there is one thing I've learned in the past couple months, and that is it doesn't matter how right you are if the message is unpalatable. Your sense of moral outrage, in my opinion, is well founded. However you, like me, are establishing the rep of pissing in others Cheerios. Doesn't matter that the Cheerios are poisonous and on fire, people don't like piss on their Cheerios.
And the airplane ricer wing and bazillion decals on Oslo's car aren't laughable?
I have to agree somewhat with Ken. Grow some balls before you make fun of someone elses car, take a look at yours first. The fake stick on scoops top it off nicely. Maybe the guy with the Camaro is on the Camaro forum laughing at your Fiero right now.

What fake stick on scoops? Do you even know what you're talking about? The bazillion(?) decals that you don't like? The wing you don't like? Well tough guy, let's see your Fiero and see how badass it is! lol

I just got out of the shower and while I was in there I decided that if noone else is willing to end this thread, I'll have to do it myself. I believe that Ken is an awful hypocrite, but at the same time, I have been a hypocrite as well. As Ken was telling me what to do, I was telling the other guy what to do. As ken was yelling at me about what I've done wrong, I was pointing out the flaws of the other guy. Not just his car.
Maybe I should've just stuck to having a little chuckle about his ride, but I drug him and his family and my assumptions about them into it. I apologize. I still think that the car is laughable, but as I was asking Ken who he thinks he is to judge me, I was judging that guy.
I'm just going to edit my posts about the derogatory things I said about the guy.
