Technically, Socialism would be "tax the uber-rich and redistribute it to the uber-poor until everyones on the same equal playing field and there are no rich and poor." Ideally, that middle grould would be upper middle class living, but if theres anything socialist/communist nations have learned, there aren't enough resources in the world for everyone to live an upper middle class lifestyle. Theres more than enough (until overpopulation gets too bad) for everyone to live at a lower level of luxury than they're accustomed to, but thats the key. We've all been brought up in the "get ahead by any means, stay on top, and **** everyone else who didn't play the game well enough" culture and those who did claw their way to the top have no intention of letting all that hard work benefit anyone but themselves. Welcome to 21st century America.
