The big question - how many saw the pilot episode of "The Lone Gunmen" on Fox sunday night?
If you saw it, and even if you did not, there is a scene were two of The Lone Gunmen are tearing apart a crushed and compacted Chevy Caprice, and what is pulled out but the lonely old Pine Tree Air Fresher. Couldn't help but laugh.

Due to severe drought conditions and the threat of a worse forest fire season than last summer's, Montana and many western states will not be allowing the harvesting of Pine Tree Scent until further notice. As an alternative we will be allowing all Pine Tree manufacturers to begin harvesting Forest Fire Scent. Further, all pine tree fresheners will now be color regulated by the US Forest Service. Only brown, smoke or fire will be allowed.

I hate those things! Let me tell you a story. See about a year ago I went and got a new one to replace the one I've had since 1985. So I sit in the seat and commence chopping with the axe. Well 3 hours later a busted windshield 2 holes in the dash, a cracked rearview and an hour wait on hold with ASPLUNDA, all I managed to do was frey the edges on the stupid thing. So I decided it was best just to leave it there and spray pinesol on it. I recently sold the new one for 35 bucks on ebay and vow never to get another one.

The wind was moaning thru the cold fall air, and the leaves were rustling in swirls accross the ground. You could hear footsteps crunching on the brittle leaves, as someone approached. Four teenagers walked up the dark path on that fatefull Halloween night, crossing into a used car lot. They notice a nice looking red Pontiac Fiero sitting kinda lonely in the back of the lot. They wander over to the nice looking sports car, and decide to take a moment to check it out. "My Dad had one of these once". responds Todd, a tall limber young man. Bill turns to him, "I never saw your Dad with a Fe-air-o before", he says in a drawl. "Yup, had one just like this actually, right down to the same kinda rims it looks like", answers Todd as he wipes off some leaves from the hood. "Well, what happened to it since I never saw it?" asks Bill. "Well, there was an accident in it. It was quite a few years ago before some you guys moved to town. My Dad had just purchased it, and that night he let my uncle take it for spin down around the old grave yard. My uncle never came back" "Well, what your Dad do?" asked Betty. He called the Sheriff and they went looking for him.". Nancy looks up from the car, "So what did they find?" she asks. "They found the car sitting down near the opening to the cemetary, and my uncle was gone. He had bumped into the stone wall near the entrance I guess, but nothing major." Bill turns and looks over the back near the large spoiler. Todd turns to Nancy to see what she is looking at. Betty starts to look a bit cold as she walks over near Todd. "Where did your uncle go?" she asks. "Vanished without a trace." answers Todd. "They never found him. The only odd thing I heard about was they found this green air freshener on the ground near the drivers door." adds Todd. "Wow, that is kinda creepy" responds Nancy, as she then tries to peer into the passenger window. "What's so odd about that?, asks Bill. "Lot's of cars have those silly things". Todd circles around the front of the Fiero and notices that the nose has a bit of a dent in it. As he leans over to take a closer look, he blinks his eyes in amazement. The bumper seems to be repairing itself. It slowly pops out and at the same time, the paint webbing and chipping seems to vanish. He quickly turns to his girlfriend who is checking out the interior thu the passneger window, "Betty, did you see that?". "See what?" she asks. Just then Bill acts like he is choking, and the two girls rush over to him. Bill seems to have his arms up at his throught. Todd looks up to see what all the commotion is about. "What the hell are you two doing?" he asks as it looks like the girls are grabbing his neck and yanking on him. Todd rushes over and suddenly he sees the trouble. Bill has a little black string tightly wrapped around his neck. "He...l..p!" coughs Bill. Todd quickly steps up to help. He reaches up and tries to get his fingers under the tight string, to try and get some slack so Bill can get some air. Suddenly Todd feels something worming it's way up his arm. He notices that it seems to be attached to the black string he is grabbing. Suddenly, there it is!! To Todd's horror, a green air freshener inches it's way up his arm. It seems to turn at him, and then he hears this low growling devilish voice say..."I'm baaaaack".
Aaaahhhh!!! Will the horror never end???
Stay tuned next week for the thrilling conclusion to: "The air freshener from the dead".

And now the thrilling conclusion to: "The air freshener from the dead".
Bill's eyes were starting to roll up into the back of his head, as the string was strangling him to death. The girls tried to hold him up while grabbing at the string, but with no air to breath Bill was going unconsious. Todd was frozen in fear as the Air freshener seemed to be starring at him. Todd had been able to get his fingers of one hand under a bit of the string. His fingers were now turning purple as the string was pulling tighter and tighter. Suddenly Todd felt a sharp pain on his face as Betty slapped him hard. "Snap out of it damn it!" she screamed. Todd shook his head to clear the cobb webs. Todd then realized he was getting pulled down as Bill was collapsing to the ground. Todd quickly reached into his back pocket with his free hand and pulled out his pocket knife. He grabbed the notch on the blade with his teeth and pulled the blade out. Quickly but carefully he starts to cut the string near where it starts to wrap around Bills neck. Suddenly, Todd feels a funny touch on his own neck. He looks down and notices another string coming out from the bottom of the air freshener and slowly moving up and around his own neck. "Betty!" he yells, "My neck!". Betty runs over and let's out a blood curdling scream as she see's the string begining to swirl around Todds neck. Betty grabs at the string to try and stop it from making it all the way around. "Just keep it busy for a few more seconds", yells Todd. Nancy realizes that the air has gotten colder as she see's her own breath now, and the wind has picked up significantly. Nancy looks up as she watches the leaves getting blown around, swirling into a small circle over parts of the ground. "Todd, the wind is getting stronger!" she yells. Todd hears her but is busy trying to cut the rest of the string off from Bills neck. The string is fraying, but Todd can't seem to get the rest to let go. He digs in a bit with his knife, gouging Bills neck enough to break the skin. Finally, the string gives way and Todd falls backward knocking Betty over as well. The air freshener flips up and lands on the ground about 15 feet away from them, but quickly leaps back towards the two fallen teenagers. Todd quickly get's to his feet and grabs Betty. he yanks her up and they run back towards their two freinds. Todd looks back quickly and see's that the air freshener is right on their heels. Todd looks up and see's Nancy standing right in their path. Todd smiles, "Make it a good one", he yells and then shoves Betty off to the side as he then leaps to his left. Nancy, having found an old shovel now has it raised in the air over her head and takes aim at the on coming air freshener. Todd rolls on the ground and then turns in time to see Nancy bring the shovels metal head down right onto the devilish air freshener.. "Wang!" goes the shovel as Nancy slaps the metal shovel hard to the ground with all her might. Todd races back over as nancy picks up the shovel ready to give it another good smacking. But as she lifts the shovels head, their is no sign of the air freshener. "Did I miss?" she asks with tears in her eyes. The three teenagers turn and look in all directions. The wind is now really howling and the leaves are starting to be like sharp projectiles flying about at the teenagers. "Let's get the hell outa here!" yells Todd over the loud groan of the wind and rustling leaves. Todd and Betty grab Bill and help him up off the ground. Bill looks up and smiles at his friends as they then head for the path. "Todd!" yells Nancy, "Look!". Todd turns back and his eyes grow large in fear. He see's a small cyclone of wind and leaves swirling up into the air growing larger by the second. "Come on!" yells Todd, as Nancy then decides to get moving. She picks up to a dead run and catches up with her friends quickly as they are still helping Bill to get going. "It's catching up to us", hollars Nancy as she helps grab Bill and pull him along. Bill finally gains enough breath to be able to start running on his own. Todd notices out of the corner of his eye that the edge of the air cyclone is now right behind them. "What is it?" cries Betty as they pass the gate to the car lot and quickly head out onto the old dirt road. "I don't know, but let's try and make it to the old Barnaby house up the street." yells Todd. "No" responds Bill, "That house has been condemned after the Murders happened there." The wind howls and leaves are starting to sting the teenagers legs and arms as the swirling cyclone seems to be following them up the street. "That was years ago" says Todd as they reach the walkway to the house. "Besides, that's all hogwash anyway!" he snaps. Winded, the four teenagers jog up the long stone walkway to the large old mansion. Todd get's to the stairway, and he leaps up every other step and quickly reaches the porch before his friends. As the groaning wind fills the air, Nancy looks back to see a cluster of leaves forming a shape. She is sure it looks like it is forming a siluette of a human being, but she then stumbles a bit on the rough stoneway so she turns back to watch where she is going. Todd reaches the front of the doorway and falls against the door grabbing the knob and frantically turning it. Then Bill and Betty stumbling accross the top of the porch out of breath crash into Todd shoving him against the door. The door gives way as a dust cloud wisks out from the opening, as if the door had been sealed for years. Nancy reaches the porch and quickly heads for the now opened doorway. Todd and Bill swing around the door and get ready to close it as Betty passes them through the door way. Nancy is right behind her and falls thru the doorway. Todd and Bill waste no time pushing the large creeping door back shut again with what strength they have left. They then hear a screaching sound from behind the now large closed door, as the wind hits the front of the house in a big gush. The house creeks and groans against the weight of the wall of wind hitting the front dead on.
We will be right back after a word from our sponsors.
