Not really worth it to me, I'll pert her out and buy a car without the cancer!

As stated in my mall thread, I'd take $500 for the whole car with the tranny and the extra motor!

After the part out I plan to be on the hunt. What I think will actually happen is after the part out I'll use the money for a few odds and ends on my car that need done, the wife will keep driving the 98 metro and next years tax returns will buy her a really nice FIero that I won't have to do a ton of work to, probably in the 4-5K dollar range. Then she will be happy and have her own car (well one she likes)

Let me know when you start lookin. If you fancy a trip to PA I'll check out a couple around here that you might take a liking to. I might even be able to find ya a nice later model V6... Than you can play with some of the civics out there But PA is where you should start lookin. I've had good luck with Fieros out here and never had one with a rust problem.

Wont work if you cant title the Frame. Its illegal to swap over VIN's and stuff like that to another frame.

Actually in Ohio I could title it, but it would then have a salvage title

Its a bit iffy here. Say i were to go into a junk yard strip a fiero down to its bones and take the frame out of there. (which they wouldent let me do either way) I take it home and start swapping parts form say a badly Rusted Fiero and put them on a good frame out of the junk yard.
If i had gotten a title for that frame from the junk yard I would be able to title the car with a salvage title because it came from the bone yard. But. If i remove the rivets to the vin plate and swap out vin plates and title it under the fiero i swapped the parts off of. That would be illegal because your swapping VIN numbers to a diffrent vehical.

I think a rebuild is a great way to go....just know that you could drop in another Duke for less than a rebuild....unless you really like the work.

Too many duke lovers on this site. The 3800-II N/A (L36) has double the power, but can do just as good at real-world MPG. Plus you can find good used examples, complete, with under 100K miles ( about 40% of their service life ) for $165, including core charge.
