Okay, so ever since I joined the fold a year ago I've wondered what the "bump" was all about...what it meant. I had hoped to figure it out over time, but have failed to do so at this point. Therefore I am putting my pride to the side and raising my hand to ask...

What does "BUMP" mean here??????

Fieros' have this special exotic type of steering, it's call "bump steering"

*bump* is used to exclaim to the masses how much you love this type of steering*.
(that's a lie...)

*Bump* --> Not just foundhere, *bump* is found on many forums...That's when a thread is going to go off the page, you *bump* it back to the top.

It simply refers to "bumping" the particular topic you are reading to the top of the page, in case and/or because you want other to read your most recent response. Hope this assists you.

First just let me say, LMAO!!! alright, now that I have that out of my system a bump is when someone wants to keep an article going and therefore they post "BUMP". It will then show up as the most recent article with a Comment, reply, Post... whatever...\

good luck, and for what its worth...

BUMP!!! XD

*bump*

Make sure you set your thread settings so it sends you an email notification each time someone replies!

(Tomorrow, I'll explain what *beep* means...)

Sure! You can bump yourself, just don't do it too frequently... forums frown on bumping more than once a day... grin.. that sounds so naughty!

Oh, don't forget, if anybody replies, it also bumps the topic up to the top!! Like I just did... heh!

You can go blind if you bump yourself too often.

Nope not the dumbest question ever.....if you do a search for "stupid question" you get this:

Question: Fiero's engine in the trunk or front hood ? Really stupid answer !! (by CoolBlue87GT, started: 04-09-2010, last post: 2010-04-09 23:33:07 CEST)
Found this in http://www.chacha.com/quest...n-the-trunk-or-hoodA person is asking this question:Q: Does a Pontiac Fiero have the engine in the trunk or hood Some guy answers with this response:A: The engine for the Pontiac Fiero is located in the front hood of the car.

So you can see, your's is not too dumb at all. Keep asking, lots of answers in here.

BTW, I'll refrain from Bumping too often...

Don't feel bad about dumb questions. I was on a job once and the guy had something called a Boxster ' spelling?;

Anyway with the trunk open and the hood open I could not see an engine anywhere!! But yet the car ran.

I guess you now know what the next ? was.

Your question wasn't dumb. I remember way back in the day when someone told me "There is no such thing as a dumb question" but in the past few years I heard an addendum "but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots."

LOL!! Classic!

And I prefer "Alley-Oop!" occasionally, instead of Bump. (But then, I'm strange. Ask anyone. )

And let me be the first to say (at least in this thread) "Welcome to our obsession!"

I've always said that it is better to know what you don't know then to know what you do...

I read in one thread that you can go to your preferences and delete the thread, but I can't seem to see how that works. What you can do is go to your profile and modify it so you don't allow the moderator to email you with stuff. Set that select button to "NO" and that should keep you from getting any emails. The only problem is that if someone does reply to something you want to know you'll have to check manually.

Hopefully Cliff will enlighten us on how to just remove one thread from our subscriptions...
