Has anyone used their original GT lights to house after market lights? We have all seen some of the beautiful jobs people have done using fiberglass panels or even one piece panels with inserted lights but has anyone just used the original lights. I assume most would be upgrading due to them actually broken but if your lights aren't broken just delaminated can it be done or is it just too brittle? Small cracks could be bondo'ed and painted but interested to see or just know if it has been done. I already painted mine before an awesome thread on fixing them came up so looking to see if any chopped into theirs.
I am not one for starting threads for sake of it and it probably has been mentioned i know i have asked before in other threads but i simply either didn't know they used their original light panels or haven't seen it done.

I will be doing this with a set of cracked lenses. There are chunks missing, so I will just fill them in, and cut holes for new lights. I just have to find the right style to look good.

Has anyone used the inner color lenses with the raised stripes, inside the fastback tail lights, without the transparent covers, or are they terribly ugly without the covers?

Heres a few pics how I installed them. After cutting out the lights, I popped the lenses back on to help sturdy them up and stretched some fabric over the hole and glassed it. After dried I glassed both sides again and then cut the holes out to mount the lights. The lights are about 5 inches deep. Turned out well. Very bright.

Stock GT taillight assemblies. The inners were cut out and had custom Vette taillights bonded in. The rear part of the Vette lights are from a 78-82 Vette and the lenses are aftermarket bubble lenses. Reverse lights are in the bumper cover.
....forgot to add -- also used parts of an aftermarket F355-like taillight panel too. Could never find a rear taillight panel that fit all of the curves of a Fiero, so the third one I bought I just gave up and started cutting to make it fit into the rear of the Fiero assembly......

Man ditch the ferrari horses and that is perhaps the cleanest/nicest fiero on here, IMO!
Yea, I'm wanting one of those billet pegasus badges by infinitewill, just had several of these laying around from my 355 kit I gave up on. Already have some wheel centercaps with pegasus logos just need to install them. Regardless of how much money you put into one their only work 3k in some peoples opinion.

I so wish i didn't paint mine but already ordered new ones. Love the look of modifying the insides i have one spare light inside i could start to modify but wont be for a while so much other stuff to do. I just ordered some new lense covers. So could do external mod or start a half internal mod and decide whether to do the other half or even keep as new stock with the new covers.
