Has anyone ever used the Alsa Corp chrome paint? If so were you pleased with the outcome?
In terms of Chrome or metal looking vinyl, they are great for flat surfaces or simple curves but I haven't seen any that could handle complex compound curves with our wrinkling and buckling.

If you are looking for vynyl in colors with no graphics you could try this Ebay store. http://stores.shop.ebay.com...xpress__W0QQ_armrsZ1 I have purchased some of their vinyl in solid gloss black and carbon and I liked what I got. they also sell application accessories and offer lots of info.
Man, a fiero would lo SOOoo good in all chrome.. Or chrome under candy apple red.. man that would be sexy.
Spectrachrome is an alternative to Alsa. I had a spectrachrome system before I got into Fieros. Here is ana example of their red chrome.
http://www.sprayonchrome.com/customer1videogallery http://www.sprayonchrome.com/Gallery.html I lost my job and had to sell the system before I could set up to make money at it. It is very durable. I actually chromed a brick and a 2x4 piece of wood. Not to put down another product, but a mustang that was done on a reality automotive show was peeling and fading a year later. It was done with the Alsa system. It could have been bad prep. Who knows. If you can find someone who uses the Spectrachrome system, I think you will like it. When I purchased my system, they sent a sample sprayed on glossy ceramic tile. I accidentally dropped a piece and the adeshion was excellent all the way to the break. No flaking or peeling. Spectrachrome also offers Magic chrome that uses a regular spray gun. http://www.sprayonchrome.com/magicchrome.html I may try this when I get a little extra cash.
If I could do it all over again, I would buy the spectrchrome system and put up a building, then start spraying
i did a 87 ss montecarlo with the majic spray ,chrome base ,translucent candy apple red next ,ghost flames and clear,it was very loud, came out good ,but stevie wonder could tell you what color it was,had good luck with durability

that is TITS but i wonder if its legal? i could really see it bieng a safety hazard to others on the road bieng blinding if the sun hits it just right
I know back in the 50s, Ford had some bodies built (a Tbird I know of) of polished aluminum or stainless by Alcoa. They were not allowed to drive the car or sell it with the posibility of being titled due to that safety hazzard.

Wraps wont protect you from rust in most cases. It starts on the backside or inside of the panel and works out. Most rust is from condensation sitting on the unprotected inside of the panel. Thats why you see it as a bubble in the paint first. Also, if you want a high gloss with vinyl, it can be clearcoated with urathane clear with no problems. It can also last as long as paint if you use UV blocking clear. Ive had a lot of customers with pinstriping or graphics that wanted me to clear the whole panel over them. Ive never had one come back.

i have been looking for someone who has vinal wrapped in carbon fiber looking wrap the peice on a fastback on the rear clip on inside of gt window the black instert peice not sure what its called anyone have this done maybe the grills too,,
Most of the vinyl wraps I've seen have been advertising that are meant to be temporary. I had my old bus wrapped about 4 years ago to promote a project I was doing and it's showing it's age. Admittedly, it spent the vast majority of that time outside and wasn't "clear" protected. It was only meant to survive a 9-month tour anyway.

I need a paintjob for my Vette, I thought about letting someone wrap it. My wife wants me to do it but I just dont know. Now I think my Fiero has way to many scoops and vents to wrap and make it look good.
I'd be interested in the approx price for a car the size of the Fiero. I don't know what was paid to do the bus (the label picked it up and I never saw a bill) but I'm certain they didn't go with the most expensive option. Also, are there reputable facilities in Midwestern US that do the work? I checked the "Foilacar" sites but as far as I can tell, they're located in the Philippines and the UAE.
Gokart Mozart... That's hilarious! Can't get much "greener" than that!!

Alsa has been doing the chrome system for a long time. Here is a dvd lid that I sprayed as a test because the stuff is so expensive, I didn't want to waste any on a large part. The DVD cover has been sprayed the basecoat black, the chrome over that, and the clear. Here is the dvd cover in black

I have a question. Every time I have tried the ALSA chrome paint it loses it's luster after the clear was sprayed on. How do you keep it from doing that? I ended up spending $7,000 on a Cosmi Chrome System that really kicked ass. It was awesome but I always wondered what I did wrong with the ALSA paint.

My going rate is about $2500 for a nice bc/cc paint job. You pretty much still have to do the prep work using wraps so why not just put paint on your car. Wraps im amusing do not have the depth a good paint job has. wraps may be easy to take care of but a good paint job should last a heck of a lot longer. I vote bc/cc. Leave the wraps for the ricers
