Right now my DD is an 88 Coupe automatic. Dumps oil out currently, but going to get that fixed soon. Needs help in a few areas namely the wobbly steering column and that oil leak, but it drives good each day.
i have a 86 SE 2.8.. (very soon to be 3.4, ) but my Fiero was my first car, dad bought it for me when i was 16, that was in 1993, and it was my daily driver all the way through highschool and college, it got parked due to a bad brake caliper in 2005, and sat untill i ressurected it in eairly 2009.. So it was my daily driver for over a decade, then sat for almost 4 years, and now im restoring it, and only drive it on weekends, and nice sunny days. Being in Alabama is nice, since i can drive the car all year around, but i only take it out during nice weather now, no rain driving if i can avoid it.
The car has been fixed up alot in the past year since i started restoring it.. New suspension, all new brakes, clutch system.. Just need to do the 3.4 swap in the next couple months, then do some interior work and a paint job and she will be "finished"... Of course then a lifetime of eternal tweaking after that.. lol.

Got my first fiero in April of 1999. An 85SE V6 4 speed. Drove it everyday for 18months. Then the engine finally gave out. Picked up my second fiero right then. An 84SE auto. Drove it and the newly fixed 85SE for several years while I built my 4.9 powered 85GT. Have driven that ever since its completion. I don't have pics of the first 2 handy. Here are before and after shots of the 85GT though... The before is as it came to me. After is approx 2 years later.
I also don't drive any of mine in the snow/ice. Since thats pretty rare around here that means they only see down time 2-3days every couple years. I park then because of other drivers. Most drivers in my area have no idea how to drive in cold weather. Better to keep them safe IMO. I just toss the studs on the old 88 Ranger 4x4 and laugh my ass off as I pass all the big SUV's in the ditches.

I have some to add... I did have a period of time in which I was not driving the blue GT due to a 3.1 engine failure (excessive piston slap) then I tried again 1 year later with another total new 3.1 build and it died about 1.5 years later with a walked crank (at 25,000 miles!). I decided I was done with the 3.1 motors. In all I have put about 140,000 miles on my two Fieros over a 14 year period even including the down time for repair and modifications. ... and there have been a LOT of mods.

I've been driving my Fieros since the mid 90's as daily drivers. My first Fiero a white v6 86 SE Aero from 95 untill about 2003, then a black 88 coupe with the DOHC for about 2 yrs and currently been driving a white 88 GT with the 3.4 DOHC out of the black coupe for the past 5 yrs as a daily driver, running the snot out of it almost every day and loving every minute of it. Cant wait to start driving my other white 88 GT powered by a N* daily as soon as everything is finished up.
Here is a pic of my current daily driver 88 GT with the 3.4 DOHC

I drove mine daily until I was afraid of pressing the gas pedal down.
I understand where you are coming from. . I think the Fiero is naturally scary with big power being a short wheel base and pretty light wieght considering. Its not like a Brabus with big power as you don't sense the power and speed like you would in a Fiero

Been using mine as a daily (at least 5-6 days a week) since I bought it new. It's a '87 2.5L with 130K miles on it. Entirely stock with exception of GT wheels and power window/door locks from donor fiero. Repainted original gold about 10 years ago. Looks quite nice if I say so myself.
Bought my 1st fiero and DD in '92 and tho i've owned up to 15 at one time, i'm down to 7 and its still my fav. jesse Red '88 2.5 5 spd DD Maroon '88 2.5 5 spd White '87 2.5 5 spd Green '87 GT 5pd Purple '86 GT 4 spd Black '86 GT auto White '85 GT

I've been driving my '85 GT since about April 2010. I had a lot of problems that first month and was regretting the purchase but after I replaced the alternator, rotors/pads/calipers, ICM, and some fuses I've put about 5k miles on it with absolutely no work done. It still needs a ton of work(I only get about 15MPG) but it gets me to work. I don't have any other vehicle and there is no way I'm riding a bicycle 20 miles to work on a busy highway in 95* summers and sub-zero winters... I plan on getting back on my feet from my divorce and buying a nicer Fiero to make my own. This one is just too far gone for someone like me. I would spend more getting it back to a decent level than to just buy a nice one. So far I have about $1,200 in the car total...
I drive fieros every day. My 328 replica is usually the daily driver, I also use my 84 which now has almost 200K and for once in a while use is my 87 Countach replica. I just love the platform. That and my 84 can park sideways in the garage enabling 3 vehicles to fit in a larger 2 car garage.
mine was my daily driver untill it it broke down 5 days after i bought it! oh well i still smile when i walk out my door cause its the first thing i see

never had one that was "the" daily driver, but at times one was the main driver with one or two other cars.
my '87 coupe brought in '98 was the main driver along with an old blazer and corvette.
an '86 gt brought in about 2000 or 2001 that became the main driver along with the '87 coupe and the blazer (then a blazer that eventually replaced the first one), then in the last year with an 87 convertible (which was the main car for a few month pinch) and a motorcycle. it was the main car in whatever rotation i had going on 'til just this last summer-early fall when the clutch went out.
and an '87 convertible brought in 2002 that was the summer main car up 'til this past year. the motorcycle kind of took it's place this summer.
that's an approximation that but since '98 at least one running car i had was a fiero.
now the main, and really only vehicle is an '07 silverado. i should have the convertible back by summer (i hope), and the gt by spring (again, fingers crossed).
