Just watching the new Top gear, looks like they have a gold SE in one of the upcoming episodes. Doesn't look good for the car...

It's a glorified Battle of the Supercars. Tanner Foust and Paul Tracy own that show and now the U.S is trying to copy a masterpiece from the U.K. I give it a season....maybe 2 before it is cancelled due to boredom.

you guys beat me to it.. Just started watching the new series on my DVR. I hope they shine a little bit of respect for our plastic cars.... I mean the lambo super leggera is considered lightweight with all of its fancy alloys and carbon fibre this and that, becuase it is less then 3k lbs. My 84 is less then 3k but unfortunately it has less then 1/5 of the HP. Haha Id like to see the supper leggera be lightweight with an old duke

I expected much better. A poor American version of a wonderfully imaginative and creative British original. I thought the helicopter stunts with the Viper was simply stupid and much too long; about as intertaining as the stilted, scripted and childish conversations between the 3 hosts. I for one have no idea who these guys are or where they came from so they have very little credability as far as I'm concerned. I certainly hope they can get their act together and come up with something more interesting that just driving 3 supercars as fast as they can down a runway. If it doesn't improve quickly, I'll be surprised if they make it through their entire first season. If they take cheap shots, as I expect them to do at the expense of the Fiero, then this show won't last long.....why watch this dreck when the much better original is available.

original isn't available everywhere unless you download it online or get in through netflix, wish they had kept it on the discovery channel. Most tv shows suck at first it seems...so there is still hope...but hasn't this been tried before? and always failed?

Wowsers..... why dont you just tell us how you feel? J/K I agree that the hosts do not appear to have any chemistry whatsoever. The viper was cool, and so was the helicopter dancing around the viper, as tires were spinning and smoke was flying but the bit was definately way to long.

I wish they kept Carrolla on board to be one of the hosts.

I always wondered why Leno wasnt the host? He is like a perfect match for the Jeremy Clarkston guy... add in some annoying skinny dude and boom, perfect knockoff!

I am always a bit confused that the hosts were just not that enthusastic in their own way.. the descriptions were very scripted and the adjectives predictable.

If you have not spent a lot of time with the original show this may have been ok. If you watch the original BBC show you may not like this one.

The original show works because of the presenters and their I don't car what the BBC wants us to do thinking.

I loved the opening last season where they were told to feature more green cars. So they had a Green Lambo as their first test.

I have only seen the BBC version and erally liked that show. Don't even know what channel the American version is on. Its all up to the hosts and how much freedeom they are given to make a show like that decent. Producers and junk here in the US probably won't allow that.

If jay leno was the host it wouldn't have a second episode...he isn't funny...at all...how he has a show amazes me to be quite honest. Then again the same can be said about snl...I hope the american hosts will loosen up, maybe they're new to it ( the guys on the real top gear do many other things besides top gear )

It looks like they were doing a remake of the "handbrake on hill" test like they did on the English Top Gear show a while back. Unfortunately, our Fiero handbrakes are less than reliable....

I still like the English version of Top Gear better. Maybe its their accent, and dry humor.......

Watch all you want on streetfire.net, they have every episode, but annoyingly, also have many partials. If it's not a full episode, it shouldn't be there. Period. The end.
I've watched every episode at least twice, and am now making my own list of what each episode is really about, while waiting for season 16. Season 15 was cut short. A season is 13 weeks, not 6 episodes, dammit!
BBC must learn that Jeremy, James and Richard ARE Top Gear. Without them, our version will fail as hard as the Australian version keeps failing. Over and over again. They've had 3 seasons, none of them got past 4 episodes, IIRC.

I can't post photos but I pulled up the original Pennock's thread from 2003 when I bought it with 38 miles on it. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/A...0223-1-030843-3.html There are a few good interior shots on page 3. BTW, if anyone sees this Top Gear episode again, one real giveaway is that my Fiero had a black wing on the rear rather than gold like it would normally come from the factory.

Poor little car. As much as it's going to hurt to watch, and as much as I disliked the first episode, I'm going to have to watch for this episode. :P

Why did you post Rig Stig instead of the previousAmerican Stig? Your pic is from the Lorries episode, which was in England. The Stig who drove Jeremy's Camaro, Richard's Ram and James' Caddy was even bigger, and didn't have a tanned right arm.

I vote for ..... I want the UK version back.. They were much more funnier and had real good challenges. Plus better roads than the airport!... And lets talk about the Stig... I'm insulted that they would say that he is the same driver.. What ever--- I'm surprised that the show isn't on Speed. Seems like it their doing.

I saw the Fiero too.. Poor thing.. And they're making fun of it.

That is a real shame why can't they buy something that deserves to be in the junkyard this car from the pictures didn't look like something that deserves to be in a junkyard. What a waste of a pretty nice gold SE

Yea, looks like they will be picking on the Fiero. I thought the show was boring, and the hosts almost lifeless. But, at least they americanized it by not having a single camera angle hold for more than five seconds.

You can get the original show unedited via torrent.
