This picture shows the original "X" style wheel as it was proposed by Pontiac to use on the Pace Car Replica. The disks were going to be offered through the dealer in the Super Duty catalog.
Fred
Thanks Fred...another missed opportunity by Pontiac. The Q wheels would have added a bit of performance to the replicas. As delivered the Indy package was all looks.

Of course, there's no details on the size of the wheels, condition of the wheels, no mention of the dented rim. No picture showing the wheel on the car with the tire half off the wheel. etc etc.

Somebody spoof him an offer of 2k$ Be real excited like you've been looking for awhile. Then rescind the day before delivery, cause someone else is selling them for 500...

Interesting idea. And CraigList warns about paying by Money Order.
Wish I remember how much I paid for my "Q" wheels. Still got them kicking around. They have always looked good, I really should polish them and put them on my pace car when I get it back from the dead.

I've lost all interest in trying to get these. In spite of their less than perfect condition, too many games had been played with trying to sell these for "top dollar".

Are these actually "original" pace car wheels? Or are they the same design as the originals? Fred's pics shows a wheel painted white. I was under the impression that the factory Indys had the 14" wheel stock. Were these a special order item through the dealer? Just curious.

NOPE. Those are just Centerline wheels.
From another thread (there's 3 on these wheels) Originally posted by SuperchargedV6: Indy wheels are in the link below and they had to modify them by shaving the center hub enough to put on the solid cover. MUCH cheaper.

Even with the Q wheels, it would have only been performance looks without the performance.

Centerline 2 piece wheels all four in pretty good shape. 15x8 5 inch backside offset 3 inch outside. Pretty light also. I was gonna use them for drag or track rims. Came off a front wheel drive 88 daytona. 5x100 bolt pattern. $100
