im interested in seeing what non fiero seats others have put in their fieros. any will do, but what i will want for my car is something with high bolsters, with a really nise look, and i am considering a 4pt harness so a place for the sholder straps would be great! i like the c4 seats, any one have those in there?

i personally like these fiero seats, i know its not what this post is about but i think they look great since they are rarely seen in the fieros. I have these seats in my 85 GT and I like them allot more than any fiero cloth seats. Ive yet to see other brands of seats that look good in the fieros since they have to sit on the floor, but the C4 vette seats look pretty sharp in there and have better support than the fiero seats.

Before I got my 88 with beechwood interior I had a set of real Ferrari 355 seats. Front what I worked out a bend of a tab and elongating of a hole and they wre a bolt in.

I bet its hard to get in and out of your car, the 'drop and spin' technique wouldnt work as well with those leg supports ( though they do look nice and i bet are great once you are IN the car )
EDIT: That sub you have there, how does taht work out being so exposed to passengers?

actually not bad getting in and out has the SRT4 viper seat feel.
sub works fine, still looking at mounting 2 L7's upfront when the time comes. I don't get to many people who want to ride along with me, those that do often complain of rattling inbetween their legs

Of course I am biased to keep the Fiero seat, as I make the leathers, but here goes:
The Fiero seat was designed specificaly for the Fiero on request from GM by The Lear Corperation. It seems GM did not have anything in their parts bin to fit the Fiero. (and that's saying something, as the 84 Fiero shared many other parts from "the bin") (that 'bin' includes the corvette) The Fiero seat is not found in any other GM car.
In 25 years of dismantling interiors I have never seen a seat that is as low / or as narrow as a Fiero seat. It is unique. This is why the Fiero seat is the replacement seat of choice for MG and Triumph owners. (those are really small cars).
I have had many kit-cars in the shop where the owner requested that I remove the Recaro seats and replace them with 'real' Fiero seats so they can sit comfortably in the car.
Thanks, MrMike

the closest i've sat in are G6 seats. Mine look and feel almost the same to me. other than the headrest, they're really close to the fiero seats. of course, my better half won't let me take one out to see if it fits....
i would LOVE a set of yours mrmike. one day, i'll be able to buy them i hope. you do fantastic work.
Ive seen allot of Mr Mike's work and I really really want a set of skins from him, but unfortunately i want my new skins to match the level III ones I posted above exactly. Mr Mike cannot make them so I need to have an upholsterer do them up, its a shape b/c mr mike knoes the fiero seat so much better than some upholstery guy.

Flyingbob How did you mount that sub? I was trying to do something like that to mine only I can't think of anyway to get a new piece with the sub to stay in the opening.

I was at Summit Racing up here in Ohio. They had some seats on display and i actually sat in a few. I really like having latteral support, especially when doing autocross. Unless you are doing serious racing, latteral support and four point harness is not necessary. But anyway, I like the one seat they offered, and it was only like $150. Of course I am sure its not bolt in, but I would not keep it forever, but make it a swap in and out as needed. The Fiero original seats are pretty nice, and with the Mr. Mikes leather kits they are sharp.

Yeah Recaros are usually not very comfortable, I like the look of them but they're much too hard to live with day to day. I can never understand people that want to take out the stock seats which look good and are very comfortable and put in crap like Sunfire seats which are neither. If your seats are in bad shape why not just re-cover them ? If I was looking for new seats for the fiero I'd look at early Mazda mx-3's or maybe Sunbird seats. Grand Prix seats might work too but may be too wide or high. Also have a look at Celica's from the early nineties.

I've got a set of Firebird seats in my Fiero. They are from around a 96 model. Yes I got the dash and everything else too. I have a set of sunfire seats in another Fiero and they are junk so I wouldn't go that route. They are too soft.

I am planning to install them soon. Not in the Fiero they're intended for, but I'm getting a bit impatient myself, and want to see how they fit and feel in a Fiero. They are very comfortable sitting in them on the floor. I really like the stock Fiero seats, as they are the most comfortable out of any car I have been in. I was set on getting a set of MrMikes leather seats, however, I couldn't pass up the deal on these, and they look really cool. I was a bit dissapointed to find out that they're not all leather, but I still like them. I will hopefully have a build thread soon, with more details about the seats. Keep an eye out.

Oh so you bolted the front panel to the center console flyingbob. Thats all I couldn't figure out was how to mount a panel to hold the sub like that. What size sub is that?

I'm glad I looked in here because I have been looking at options to fix my 84's bad drivers side seat covers. I have a good used original seat back so the cheapest way to go would be to find a bottom seat cover. The big plus to that is keeping the headrest speakers. The minus is that I'm not wild about the stripes on the seats.
The best way to go without a doubt is Mr. Mikes leather seats. I've seen a lot of his work at Fiero shows and every set I saw were top notch, but they are a bit rich for my blood. { but worth the cost} I saw a set of non leather covers at his X-mas sail but they don't have the speaker holes in them.
I've been loking at replacement seats that were shown above but I am wondering about comfort and ease of installation with those seats. Minus is again that I lose the head rest speakers but I could mount others somewhere.
I'd be intersted in hearing some feedback on the Summit/ Jegs seats or other options from those who have them.

It is a 8" sub. The way it was mounted was the 4 machine scews were put in the wood first and held in with nuts that sunk in the wood, then the vinyl was put on. Then mounted to the centre consol drilling 4 holes to match with nuts put on to hold it in place and then the speaker put in.
