dude16 didn't get his 300 zx and had to settle for a pulsar..
LOL! That's the first thing I thought of when I read the first post. This thread seems awfully familiar - almost like deja vu.
That's okay. At least jacknife33 doesn't have to worry about wrapping his unit when he's picking up his 'girls' -- the only ones I can see him getting with that ugly Pulsar is equally ugly ones that nobody would touch anyway. Isn't the Pulsar the "poor man's" Fiero?

I've been avoiding answering this thread, but heres my 2 cents...
Before I bought my fiero, I was actually looking at a pulsar NSX(?)...5 speed with t tops...89 i believe...Decided against it due to the fact that the owner was a lesbian who "ghetto-ized" it and put huge 1500 watt subs in the back with chrome all over the car...And also the car was ugly compared to the 88 coupe...
So what does this teach us? That only lesbians drive the pulsar...

my buddy had a 86' pulsar. he turned it into a shark car. ill see if i can dig up a photo of it. it had a shark fin on the roof and teeth on the bumpers and eyes on the front fenders. it was pretty sweet. it also had vice grips on the window handle before the other ones broke. and 5th gear to toast. and he made it have duel exhast. well not really. he took a small pipe. painted the inside of it black and put it on the other side of the exhaust so it looked like "duel" exhaust.
i dont mind the looks of the newer pulsars. but i rather have a fiero then a pulsar. even if they are "slow"

Did a quick search using: Definition of a sports car....this is what I got in return
An automobile equipped for racing, especially an aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds.
A simple definition of a sports car is "a small low car with a high-powered engine, and generally seats two people".
Doesn't sound to me that they are talking about a Pulsar
Doesn't really sound like they're talking about a Fiero either.

Back in the day though the Fiero was a quick little car that handled, now a days no thats not the case (in stock form) but time line is relative here when comparing a pulsar to a fiero.

If I ever had to get another car besides my fiero I would HAVE to get another 85-90 Trans Am. I still have my old 1 but its all ruined . The pulsar is ugly and slow but yet I have a thing for mazda mini trucks

True, but they're some on here who think that stock Fieros run with supercars or something. Thinking that they're cars are something that they're not... just like anybody who thinks a Pulsar is "classy." That was probably the most amusing post of this thread.

Goodbye Pulsar Man, Stimpy, Shaun, or whatever your name was.
Not that I didn't appreciate the satire, but I'm not about to expend that much effort on this forum trying to rile up people about their choice in cars. Why would I do that, when I drive a PT Cruiser? Even though it is faster then your Fiero and it gets the sophisticated chicks who know about MMA and stuff, it also gets it's fair share of critics. True story.

So he has a 86 Pulsar... Turbo? The turbo was a mod then as the Turbo Pulsar in that body style was only available in 1983.
The Pulsar was built off of the Sentra platform. It had a 1.6 litre engine with a whopping 69 hp. The turbo version had a 1.5 litre engine and made 100 hp... However while it racked up some hp the numbers aren't all that impressive. 0-60 in 9.3 and the 1/4 in 17.3 @ 81 mph for the turbo model, recorded by Car and Driver.
I knew I had this info somewhere, remembered reading it. Sports Compact Car, Oct. 97 issue, it was featured in the Detour column.
Wish I had some time to type out the whole column for you all to read, it's pretty amusing.

Yearly, American school children make probably billions and billions of folded paper origami cranes, thanks to well-meaning teachers who want to do something without sending half the class home with indelible paint stains on new school clothes. Those same schoolteachers probably flocked to buy the Nissan Pulsar NX.
quote
The long induction tract was cited for excessice turbo lag.
quote
A low stall speed didn't give boost a chance to build before moving the car. Thus mashing the pedal resulted in only a lethargic accceleration until----- Pow! The engine found boost.
quote
Torque-braking the transmission helped but, as Motor Trend noted, The NX Turbo lost hole shot to decade-old Corollas driven by little old ladies who didn't even know they were racing.
quote
Nissan quietly dropped the NX Turbo when the '84 models came out. They weren't mentioned, they just weren't there. Nissan, apparently, knew when to fold.
1984 Pontiac Fiero S/E 0-60 in 10.9 and the 1/4 in 17.8. So yeah maybe the Turbo Pulsar might be a little faster then a unmodded Duke.... But is that really something to brag about?
1986 Pontiac Fiero GT 0-60 in 8.0 and the 1/4 in 16.2. Don't think you'll be beating any stock V-6's out there.

I wish this POS hit the can when the idiot got banned instead of wasting time talking about this crap. This waste of a topic has gotten more views than some of the more important Fiero threads and that is pretty sad SO CLIFF.... HELP US OUT HERE

I'm guessing folks are just bored, or intrigued by the idea that anyone could possible think that a Pulsar has more style, class, and performance that a Fiero.
i see thos hatchback things all the time. there the most uglyest cars ever. jeez. theres so many styles of pulsars i so cunfuzed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Pulsar

that's the one i meant. i wouldn't trade my fiero for one (well, maybe an extra broke down one i have), but i like the concept. hatch for practicality, coupe for style (yeah, yeah), or leave both off and take out the t-tops for a little open air type thing.
hard to hate that, unless you bring it to another forum and try to shove it down their throats.

How could this guy get so enamored by a POS Pulsar? It's boxy looking, was built as a family car and the E15ET only produces 115 hp (86 kW). I had one try to race me on the highway once, until it's engine blew and started to smoke like there was no tomorrow. That car was just a plain embarrassment to Nissan and is a secretary's econo car.

How? He's NOT! Read his posts! Getting looks from women - in a PULSAR? Did you notice how many times he mentioned that point?
He's probably never even SEEN a Pulsar OR a Fiero in person. He can't get a date, so to fill all the free time in his little zit-faced life, he decided to post whatever made-up comments he thought would most anger "those guys on Pennock's". And BOY, did we take the bait. He got "banned?" Big deal. He's off laughing his a** off someplace and thinking up a new screen name to register with on Pennock's. Kudos to him for "getting our goat," but now, it's time for us to get a clue.
THREE PAGES WORTH OF FORUM STORAGE SPACE FOR THIS??? PLEASE, CLIFF: CLOSE THIS THREAD!
