Oh yea what are you using for tuning, turbo, fuel, lakewood traction bars? clutch? axle setup because clearly you know you have to use da integra axles on the driver side and a dc axle on the passenger side. your car is a soup can and has no chance against the superior engine and turbo BOOOOOOST!! so wanker before you post look in the mirror and say "do i really want people to know what a natural retard i really am?"

Your an idiot man
when most people talk about a race its 1/4 mile. not from some ricer roll.
lets talk a little about "BOOOOOOST". just because a honda will peak out high in the horsepower category does not mean its fast. its making that power for a very short period of time. turbo honda dyno graphs look like this ^ you want your graph to look like that ----. you want it flat not peaking for a second and dropping off like a rock.
you should also remember theres something called torque, and traction. and your powering the wrong wheels.

I have a boosted honda and a fiero just like you. Maybe its me that should be telling you to go back to honda tech?

So tell me about this 320 whp honda of yours. I think its funny you say you run it on a roadcourse, but can't seem to run it down the qtr mile properly. Your driving skills must suck, or you don't own the car you say you do. Give me details about your car? Or do you have to wait till your freind gets back to you on those important details? What pistons did you use in your fully built h22 motor? And whats funny is that you don't need a fully built H22 to make 320 whp. A bone stock H22 on 8 lbs of boost will make that. And turbo sizing on a h22 so it spools before vtec kicks in is very easy. 320 whp in a crx is an 11 second car with traction, easily solved by a set of tires.

your 3800 sc fiero will prob run high 13's at 100 mph at best. Thats what 200 whp in a fiero will get you. There are plenty of 3800 sc cars on here that are stock that have run that time. A 320 whp crx that weighs 600 lbs less then your car, will have absolutely no problem beating your car, and should trap around 120 mph in the qtr mile. Anyone with any sort of driving skill should have no problem beaating your fiero.

And whats funny, is that you claiim to own a honda, yet you have these strong feelings against roll racing. Excuse me but thats what most honda owners want to go from because it is hard to get traction without tires or suspension work. I would think you would have a more pro roll race attitude if you did indeed own a 320 whp honda. But I am calling your bluff. You dont' own one. You probably got beat by one and are mad. Also you can't spell vtec properly also proving you dont' have a 320 whp crx, let alone any honda. Why you gotta lie?
To answer the original posters question, it will depend on what type of civic you race, what motor it has, if its from a dig or from a roll, and if the civic guy can drive, and if you can drive. Too many factors to just give a blanket response. You have a specific car that wants to run you? if so gives details and we can go from there

What about when our tail heavy fieros goes rocketing into a corner? .87g skidpad isn't special nor is a 60 mph slalom.

Like someone else said before, they were decent for their day but you need some serious work to beat new cars today. 2.8 motors aren't beating much now a days

i dont know who you are talking to but I certainly do not own a honda. never have and never will and i would NEVER claim to own one.
So what are you driving mr boost. im smelling a single cam honda with some garbage manifold, what you ricers call a "disco potato", on either a basemap tune on piggyback managment or an FMU running way too rich or lean. you have more boost leaks than you know what to do with and its probably because your running worm clamps on all your charge piping. your probably hitting a hard plateau at like 4,000 rpm and are running a huge front mount under your garbage body kit. and your running rotas with stretched tires.
so you said a trap speed of 120mph but you left out the quater-mile time. why is that? o wait, its because there is no way that car will get traction because its front wheel drive. so it will run mid to high 13's with a trap of 120mph.
just stop posting, your looking like an idiot

ETC/GT:
Agreed.

this thread is about Stock vs Stock isnt it? A stock 140hp 160ft/lbs tq fiero could win in a drag against a civic. A civic is an eco-beater. The fiero was made more for speed, with the technology back then its not too shabby for an early EFI car. Now lets begin talking engine swaps.

Now, if we are racing the honda with 320whp vs a Fiero with an engine swap (Caddy Northstar anyone?) Naturally aspirated, that car with that engine would SMOKE the honda, because its not about HP, its about TQ.

Explination of HP calculations:
HP is Torque over time, your car can have 54 HP but shitloads of torque so you can outrun 300hp monsters. HP has become the standard in measuring, but what dynos actually read is Torque, HP is only a calculation, and always has been, NEVER a true rating.

My 1991 Camaro with a 5.0L TPI LB9 engine in iti is producing 250hp, not too much right? Well lets take a look here at the numbers. Remember what I said about torque? The thing is blazing out 360ft/lbs of Torque, reason is the runner design, where its nice and smooth, and 17 inches long. Long runners produce your torque you want, while short runners produce high HP amounts. Torque gets you going, HP keeps you going, remember it as that.

the 3.8SC can be easily modded to have more HP, though it needs a bit more tuning than the honda does. I think GM doesnt have the best engines, though their car designs are pretty good. Japan has us on engine design, those smart bastards. Thats why I am going with a Mazda rotary in my Fiero, low power output yeah, but much much smoother, and when I got 4 rotors, should be having 500-600hp N/A, Torque value might be like 450-550, still nothing to be pushing off as weak.

Well since everyone is throwing all kinds or crap out here is what i would like to see. I would like to see a nice 2001 trans am ws6 running 10 lbs of boost run a civic with a h22 running 10 lbs of boost. I wonder if the boat would beat that light civic? I'm guessing it would. For sh!ts and giggles lets say that both cars had "built engines" . Hell how about an N/A car like this one ( http://www.ls1tech.com/foru...wthread.php?t=806232 ) running your boosted h22. See that TA ,when it launches it has good weight transfer. That equalls traction. Can you guess what your h22 civic does? It lifts up too , but since it is WRONG wheel drive it transfers weight off the drive wheels, which equalls NO TRACTION ! LOL Stupid FWD guys. EVEN the smart tuners go RWD/AWD. Civic + boosted h22 = still not fast enough .

By the way that trans am is running pump gas with drag radials. What do the import guys run at the track? You know when they turn up the BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSTTTT . Your street driven pumpgas powered VTEC is weak!

This guy even realised that FWD is GAY
http://www.ls1tech.com/foru...wthread.php?t=730443

enjoy !

You are all making a disgusting mis interpritation. A RICER and a TUNER are two TOTALLY different things. Obviously a 320hp civic would beat a 200hp fiero you'd have to be, in your own words "retarded" to miss that. HOWEVER I think a 320hp fiero vs a 320hp civic, the fiero would prevail because of better handling and grip off the line. But we all digress this thread was about STOCK vs STOCK. Stop the whole pissing match about stuff you all may or may not have. Fiero > Run of the mill D series civic. K series civic > Stock Fiero. UGH

Thank you.

Not necessarily so. power to weight ratio. Not to mention a civic has better gearing in my opinion for its powerband. Civics are light especially the hatches and the crx's. I will also go ahead and add the B series motor > stock fiero too.

stock H22 in a crx. Its all about power to weight. CRx probably has around 190 whp. Mid 12 second car.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16NG2xJP6uM

to the original poster I will say again. There are too many variables. Yes stock d series is slow but a turbo one can be quick. My buddies has a d16 with a turbo on 8 lbs and he ran a 14 flat at 102 in the qtr on regular street tries. Only dynoed 189 whp too. Not to mention torqueless. Having tons of tq in a fwd is not a good idea anyways.

most turbo honda guys are not fast, they just think they are because if the feeling the boost gives you when it hits. most are running terrible setups and have no idea about how to make a turbo system function properly.
there are some of them that are surprizingly quick... my very good friend for instance had a delsol with a built B18b running low boost of 6psi on pump gas making 250hp and high boost of somewhere around 27psi on Cam2 race gas running over 400hp. he had a very good setup with a quafe differential but could not get the power to the ground. so he sold it and got a 1998 WS6.

so can you beat a stock Honda? probably yes.
can you beat a turbo honda? from what ive seen and what i have raced on the drag strip with my car stock you can take alot of them, but if they know what they are doing, no.

If every punk a$$ 16 year old drove K series RSXs, Si's, swapped CRXs, JDM swapped anything this thread would totally go to the Civic. My point is tho, the 10 year old 1/4 mile times do hold water because those cars are still on the road and the majority of them still have the D series in them and the drivers think the D series is a race motor. Obviously a brand new motor in a brand new car (K series cars) will be better than a 1985-1988 L44. HOWEVER compare a 1985 CRX to a 1985 Fiero. Fiero will win. 2007 Civic Si vs. 2007 Solstice GXP, GXP will win. Its really hard to compare cars that are 10 to 20 years apart.

I guess it was decided that the new guy needed to be banned. Oh well. I guess he apologized too late to save himself or Cliff did find out he was a previously banned member that snuck in. Too bad. I guess a Honda owner should not be bashing Fieros on a Fiero forum.

ok that was weird he thought i didnt know my car but i wasnt about to post EVERYTHING that i have done to it. well hes the one banned so o well. if anyone would like to see the parts list/pics i would be happy to oblige but this is a fiero forum so i would rather leave my crx out of it. plus im selling it to my brother(after seeing the stock fiero handleing i realized that i wasted my money on a honda). im sorry for the problems that i may hae caused. o and i never said that i was boosted.
