Geek trivia tidbit: That was Majel Barrett Roddenberry (Gene Roddenberry's wife, and the actress that played 'Lwaxana Troi' on ST:TNG) that did the voice of the ship's computer in both the original Star Trek series as well as The Next Generation series...
Don't forget that she was also "Nurse Christine Chapel" on the original series. And she was "No. 1" on the original pilot (re-made into the episode, "The Menagerie".
I missed this thread the first time, anyone figure out a way to make it work?
I had the voice thing in my '86 300Z also and loved it! It was so ridiculous, it was one of the only two things (digital dash being the other) I missed when I traded the Z for the Fiero.
I would love if it just said normal stuff, like 'door ajar' and 'parking brake engaged' but if it could be programmed to say things like 'Go faster! I'm bored!', 'I dare you to not brake for this corner', or 'Can we take the long route home?'... that would be incredible!
i had a chrysler lebaron for a while, and I hated that little voicebox. although it was funny when it told me my door was ajar...."no its not, it's a door!".....well, it was funny the first time anyway.
I eventually killed that little voicebox with a screwdriver.

maybe you could have an input from an accellerometer or tranny kickdown for an auto, so that when you've got your foot in it a female voice screams "oh baby, yes, yes!!!".
