Scoop that looks great mounted to your hood or roof Fiberglass construction 33 inches long 24 inches at the widest point Scoop opening is 16 inches wide
ALUMINUM RALLY ROOF VENT Versatile vent has two modes of operation
This lightweight item attaches to the underside of your roof skin and allows fresh air to flow into the cockpit thru a 7" x 3' opening. The lid fits tight and sits a little proud of the roofline to minimize water entry while raining and to prevent seepage when sitting in the elements. Use with ROOF SCOOP (described above) for full effect. Opens forward and backward to stuff air into the cockpit (pressurizing cabin and reducing dust entry) or draw air out for a more gentle airflow on transits. Requires medium skill to install and the willingness to cut a hole in your roof.
I have to ask. Why? We put them on our rally cars to pressurize the car because we have to keep the windows almost all the way up. This keeps the dust out (somewhat) and blows air in your face. One of our suppliers carries a few different models but they either flip up or are riveted on the roof. http://www.rallispec.com/prod_aero.htm

Like the in engine by air intakes, intaking hot air causing the motor to over heat in hot weather. Why put a scoop on the roof? If you cut a hole in the roof for ventiation then you weaken the car structure. Last time I saw there was a support beam in the middle of the roof and what if it rains heavy.

What support beam in the middle of the roof? I thought the hole in the support structure for the sunroof was there for all fieros, regardless if they had a sunroof or not.

Completely wrong. First, when you take the roof off- you have a hole built around where the factory sunroof would go. This is the same on every Fiero. You may be referring to the bulge down the center of a non-sunroofed Fiero, but that is only a styling component, nothing structural. As far as heavy rain, as long as the vent is installed correctly, you will have less chance of rain as you would using a sunroof. The underside of the vent is sealed to the roof.

Thats what using the rally vent inside of the scoop is for. So it doesn't leak into the car. You can open it and close it when ever you want. And The guy didn't ask for opinions just wanted pictures of the scoops.

Sorry for being a dick (yes i admit i am an ******* ) but you REALLY need to stop watching those Fast and Furious DVDs...
Yes, you are. Personally, I don't care for the look. But obviously he does, and for what he wanted he did a nice, complete job of it. Nothing worse than a half-assed job of anything.
I think they look good with a roof scoop, but I am claustrophobic. I can't handle a Fiero that doesn't have a glass top. I sold my second Fiero in order to purchase my current one because I had to have a sunroof (the V6, 5 speed was a nice bonus). Only thing I would give up the sunroof for is a T-Top.

how do you lift up the trunk lid with it there? is it removable or something?
It pops up backwards so the decklid can open. Do a search for "Indy scoop" and you will find lots of info on them. The one from Fiero Warehouse is much higher quality than the "showcars" one.

alright, i found one on fiero warehouse, and this si the description:
INDY PACE CAR SCOOP: Click for Picture The Indy Pace Car Scoop is designed to maintain the styling of the air scoop used on the 1984 Indy 500 Fiero Pace Car. The scoop mounts in the center of the rear deck, and contains a gas strut and latching system which allows it to clear the roof when the rear deck is raised. The scoop is for styling only, and is not intended to be functional. $325 (includes hardware)
it says its not intended for it to be functional, but thats what i want it for, theres no point to a scoop if its just sitting there. will it be alright to use it?

so the fieros are ready for a un roof! and there is not alot of cutting to do. Is this right? Thats explains the marks in frost on the roof of the car when i leave it outside at night for about 20 minutes. If i bought a after market sun roof , fitting it would be easy then > learning all the time< thanks for that

they can be if you don't worry about how they say mount it. this is from when i used to have one on my coupe project...
i know there are at least two other people who made their's functional too. just have to look at it, if you get one, and work out how you want it to work and/or what you want it to do.
