I'm thinking about repainting the interior on my fiero because I'm tired of "the sea of grey".

What color combinations have Fieros been graced with? I found some by digging through posts, but I'm sure there are more out there. (please post pics) and what materials and techniques worked and didn't work, how long they held up, etc.

I can't figure out if a lighter color (i.e. light cream, dark cream, white, light blue, grey-blue (see BMW colors), metallics, or a darker color (i.e. dark blue/navy, black, would look better) I'm also interested in 2-tone, vs. one solid color schemes.

(feel free to post pictures of the indy as well for completeness sake)

I have a nassau blue interior - it was used in 1966 and 1988 in Corvettes. I might be interested in stock gray because I'm going to sell the car anyway ....

Funny, I was thinking of the same thing lately. I was thinking a grey/black 2-tone. I wonder what that would look like.

I'm in the middle of it.........

I'm going black/grey/blue (blue is the bright electric-variety).

Carpet, headliner and lower door panel black.

Seats black with blue center panels.

All hard plastic (including the door surrounds) in blue.

Dash and upper door panels (the midline) stay grey

(exterior is black with blue GT40 striping, with white edging on the stripes).

IF (IF, if, if, if ;-) it turns out like whats in my minds eye the interior and exterior should completley flow together, yet have enough contrast to be seperate.

I hope. ;-)

i did mine black/tan. used the dupli-color vinyl dye spray. the stuff adheres well if you prep the plastic first. i used grease and wax remover then wiped them down with rubbing alcohol and sprayed them. looks great i think.

got a set of iggee seat skins to match and i'm almost done. i have to get a black ebrake boot and paint the seat mechanism covers, then a few little touches here and there. the lower doors and the rear board and headliner are all done with black pleather.

Damn that's nice Shawn ! I think that (2) tone black is the way to go if you want black. An all-black interior gets sooo hot in the summer.

PaulJK, I like the color. Do you have a little bit sharper pics? Did you paint the center console too?

MidEngineManiac, progress pics please...

Shawnkfl, could you please post more pics? including close ups, and shots showing the contrast. (seat pics would be great too. ) Thanks for the instructions too. What's the cure time, and how much time (and money) should I budget for this project? Did you dye the top (black) part, or is that the stock Fiero color?

i'll take some closer pics for you, although my camera doesn't have a macro setting so i'll have to do my best at getting them to turn out good. cure time was about an hour to handle them. i've got about $60.00 in it for paint and prep materials. anoher $180.00 for the seat skins. new black carpet was given to me. i spent $50.00 for the leather looking vinyl and that was enough to do both lower doors, rear firewall board and the headliner. new black visors were given to me too. the top of the dash is dyed with the dupli-color satin black. i sprayed that first then masked it off and sprayed the bottom part tan. the center console was in my shed waiting for me to install it and a bird crapped on it the day after i painted it. i cleaned it off with rubbing alcohol, expecting to have to redo it, but the paint held and you cannot even tell now. it's good paint in my book!

if it's not raining tonight, i'll post some more pictures for you.

for the seat skins, if you email them and ask for color samples of the color you want, they'll send you every color they have and every texture they have. then when you order, just tell them the number from the sample you want. in my case, the tan i picked matches the tan dupli-color perfectly so it doesn't look like an afterthought. looks good and freshens up the interior.

im not sure if black is your thing but i went on to JC whitney and order the "seat stylin" vinyl paint from them.i used it on the door panels, center console and dash. it turned out really nice. i kept the carpet on the door panels grey and i plan on using the fabric paint they have for the ceiling and the firewall. they have other colors but it would only be a day project and it looked really nice. plan on spending about 80 bucks or so with shipping.

I also think he is mad wanting to go to grey. I think he would get more as the unique colour as fiero buyers would want it. If u can get it grab it i would.
