Here's mine. I went with the popular blue and white.
I was going to go with red needles, but they lit up almost pink. The red I used wasn't dark enough. I had some white paint anyway, so I tried it. I'll see how I actually like it when installed. I still need to repaint the orange on the back of the face plate with blue, so that the odometer and tripometer aren't lit up with orange. I've got some white base, and blue flourescent paint that I haven't gotten around to trying yet.
BTW, yes you can remove some of the bulbs. However, you need to keep the ones that light up the needles. You can stop the bleedthrough of light if you make sure the foam is in place correctly, and add some if needed.
Originally posted by Fieroseverywhere: If I were you I would use a flat black for this application. It doesn't need to reflect any light like it usually would. I believe these speedhut gauges still require the use of the dummy lights so you dont want to unplug them. There should be six lights that illuminate the gauges which you don't need. These here...
There are also two that illuminate the aux gauges. These two on top here...
Leave the rest of the bulbs and make sure they are all good. Post up some pics when you get it done. Cant wait to see it.
EDIT: Come to think of it you could probably remove the one for the HVAC controls also. No idiot lights there.
If your going to remove the light dont even bother painting it. Wont be necissary.
Thanks, I'll try removing the bulbs first, and then paint if needed.

Svos, how did you finally get the slider button off your Hvac controller? Mine's stuck too. It feels like if I pull any harder it will break off! Also, how did you line up your temp/battery plate? The part that connects the wire to the paper lines right up with the bottom left screw that holds the plastic shield on. Did you bend it or something? The directions that came with this are generic.

Took a pair of pliers, put a cloth rag around the slider button, and pulled like crazy
Yep, I bent that bit to get it in.

I got some used, well they were never installed. I only plan on using the speedo and tach. How are you attaching them? I have been thinking about thin double sided tape, something without the foam on it.
The "Euel" gage is messed up, probably why I got a good deal UnleadedEuel only
I installed these sets in 4 Fiero's. But the power inverter is crap. After approx. 1 year of usage the inverter starts to fail. You can replace the inverter for any other, also for the one that speedhut sells.
There is not much what can damage the dails, it is just the inverter that is causing problems. (Too much heat)
I ended up buying a set from speedhut and it is working without any problems for more than 1.5 years now. (Will add the pictures later)
For those who have the 84 - 85 4-cyl there is an option to pre order. If speedhut has 20 pre orders, the will produce Pontiac Fiero 85mph (85-88) 4cyl dails http://www.speedhut.com/15o...auto_number=8&bhcp=1
You can replace the lightbulbs for Led-lights. Note that the blue Led light will not give you engough light. The red ones are perfect.
There are 2 shapes of T-10 Led lights, and you will need the ones with the round tips.
The other type is not effective:
On the HVAC you can use a T-5 led. If je want another color than red, you will need to sand the red/orange color so the hole the plastic will be blank.
I bought some from a different company off ebay and installed them about three years ago. Now they don't work most times and intermittently come on for a few minutes. I can't find any loose connections. I think I might just buy the speedhut gauges and do it all over again. Have any of you experienced anything similar to this?
It is the power inverter. You can just replace it for a new one.
