"likesto" was located in a town north of Lake Pontchartrain. We should include him in the list. He was a regular in the livechat, so I'm hoping we hear from him.

Just a thought. I can see where this is gonna take more than a onetime effort/donation. It may be a good idea to set up biilpay for future use.
EDIT Dar, have my funds arrived, as reference to the time it takes ? As you know, they were sent Friday.
EDIT KLRBLU.....Be safe, my prayers are with you. When you return, your thoughts will be of interest.

Ed Parks (my boss, and the owner of The Fiero Factory) isn't active here, but he has posted this to the Fiero Email list, and asked that I post it here:
"List friends, this is probably not going to reach our gulf coast Fiero friends, but if they left early, it might. If not, perhaps they can catch up to it or someone can find and let them know.
Rosy and I still have long term accommodations available. Beds, showers, food, clothes, sanitary items, a/c, transportation, and gas $$ will be provided. We just need you-y'all to show up or let us know how to get you here.
Also, storage and help with repairs and parts for their Fiero's will be available. Or, if the Fiero is unrepairable, then a purchase or trade allowance on another Fiero. Any balances due.....would be just that.....due whenever.....??
Or, if others on the list have a titled "almost running" Fiero they wish to donate, The Fiero Factory will get it running and give it to someone that has lost theirs.
We realize that replacing a Fiero will be low on the totem pole of their "new" life, and in the meantime, folks will need the long term help of cash donations to the Red Cross and Salvation Army.
We already have some gulf coast folks in shelters in Huntsville, Al and will be helping through the Moose and Eagle lodges to provide some of what they need.
Let's everyone do a small part and it will add up to a lot.

First of all, I'm very relieved to hear from those we've heard from, and anxious to hear from those we haven't. Dave Kauzlarich, FieroG97J here on the forum, isn't very well known around here, but has been a part of the Fiero community for a long time, as well as a long time customer/friend. He's not young, nor in the best of health, and we haven't heard from him since before the storm. If anyone knows of anyone in the Slidell/Lacombe area that may have or be able to get some info, please let me know.
Secondly...in addition to Ed's post above, myself and my family will also do whatever we can for anyone who needs it. Unfortunately most of what I have to offer is Fiero knowledge, since I've been working on them for the last 8 years here, and that's of minimal use in this instance...but if there's anything I can do to help, please Email me at Fierotech@knology.net, and I'll do my best. If there is an effort to get those in need some basic transportation, between myself and the Fiero Factory, we can probably help out.
Darlene and Jen....thanks so much for what you guys are doing...my PayPal account is currently negative (don't ask how that happens), but as soon as I can get it back positive, I'll send what I can. I don't have much, finanically, but I know every little bit helps...and for those thinking "Oh, I can only send a few bucks, it's not worth it"...It IS worth it...DO IT!!
Thanks, and take care all---

What if we give some money to Ed, to help with repair and replacement of Fieros?
That will help, I am sure. I think an immediate need is cash for the victims. Of course, the sooner we get started on the cars the better. I have been through devestation, not of this magnitude but I lost everything. The Red Cross and FEMA do alot that we do not need to duplicate, however, they do not meet many needs that need cash.

At this point, I think the survivors need money, food, and shelter more than anything. Personally, I would rather see funds go towards that, at this point.
It may be easier to think about replacement Fieros, for me, if everyone was accounted for...but at this point, I just want people found and taken care of.
Let's give it some time. If you guys want to save up a "fix some Fieros up" fund, or if Jen and Darlene want to set aside a portion of the $$ they receive for that purpose, I'm sure we can make use of it later, and the shop would definitely appreciate the help, if we get to the point that we're putting together several cars for folks that need transportation.

I compose too slowly! Thanks, Cliff, that's my thoughts exactly, at this point.
Take care-- Jeremy

I was thinking about a separate fund. I've already done the "PFF fund", and the Red Cross and Salvation Army are next. Let me know if you guys want to start something at the Fiero Factory.

From the Department of Labor. All kinds of information. Money allocated for creation of jobs, most in clean up and rebuilding the devestated areas. Job listings. Emergency unemployment insurance. If not eligible there was some mention of monetary grants.

I just made a paypal donation. Even though it's not alot of money, it looks like those in need are really appreciative. They need money to just get them day to day.

The original post was updated with an offer of assistance to anyone displaced to Pheonix, AZ. Also members who recently contributed were added to the list. Keep up the good work everyone.
We DESPERATELY need people to track down members and get addresses or phone numbers where they can be reached so we can get them all of the wonderful support that has been provided.

One of the problems with the search sites is that the evacuees are being shuffled around a lot, as facillities filled up. Another is servers being overwhelmed with huge numbers of people surfing those pages. Just too much bandwidth being consumed, as they never imagined the websites they initially set up would have to handle that much traffic. Still nothing found on Dave Kauzlarich, and the ph# I have for the family by the same name in Mississippi still isn't working--probably because 70% of that state was still without electrical power as of yesterday afternoon. I was hoping the Red Cross would come out with an updated list of evacuees, and their locations, but I read on one news site, that they haven't the people to keep up with the situation right now.

Yes the lack of electric certainly makes things difficult. Perhaps you could show that address to someone who knows Dave? Perhaps they would know? We're just going to have to be persistent in our search and realize it may not happen overnight.

Last I know Aus was setting up the site to sell raffle tickets and designing the tickets. I'm hoping we will have them available for FieroRama but that is still up in the air.

Well as much as I would like to go to Fierorama, I just can't make it. I am going to donate the money that I would have spent on gas etc. to the cause.
