bill pay is a good idea. I am going to send via paypal only because my bill pay takes up to five days to get there. (unless they have the electronic means already setup it takes several days.)

Instead of paypal, would a money order overnighted be better?
If you are okay with doing that, more money would go to the victims. I still have not heard from PayPal yet if they will waive their fee for those who donate.

Jen, think about it. All Fiero events are run from one thread. I think the relief effort should be also. I will jump in and moderate work crew efforts. FocusRush can jump in and moderate Hurricane Relief project. AusFiero can jump in and moderate the raffle You and Dar can jump in and moderate cash donations.

Fiero focus- project Hurricane started as fiero for victim ,now might be part of AUS raffle?? IMHO keep original idea pick name out of hat( so to speak) with only names of the pff'ers that lost cars. ( please decide soon)
Many PFFers have offered car parts - awsome idea. someone needs to inventory donations of this type for use when needed by victims. May be awhile down the road but still great to think ahead.
As always RED CROSS is a great idea, although not fiero forum specific.
I will be donating soon but wanted to see if I uderstood the multiple threads correctly.

Mrs Fiero Vin has posted this same post in three different threads. Notice her last statement. Multiple threads are causing me confusion also. I have aske Aus and Focus to join us here. I think it is a good idea but have been known to be wrong. Speak up all.

Work Crew Notice I will head my efforts this way before I post. Head replies the same way to work crew efforts. I suggest the same for each effort. That way people can skim down to where they want to post

I count five Fieros in need of repair. I need five clubs to sponser one, haul it back to their area, and repair it. We can have tech sessions and share our efforts and problems/solutions with each other. This will take some money, possibly more than each club can muster. Not sure. Darlene, perhaps we can explore the idea of some donation monies going for repairs. Of course necessary needs take priority.

Yes we can keep people posted as to ticket purchase for the AusFiero & Friends Raffle here and also the status of Focus's project but I figured they could keep their threads open so people can get in touch with them directly without confusing everyone here.
I will keep the original post in this thread updated with their latest information.
I also just received a call from Matt at the FieroStore and they will be helping with the relief efforts as well.

Which would be this thread. Jen, every club should get a batch of tickets and sell as many as they can at their monthly meets. Who can round up all email addresses the the club presidents ?

That would be great if Paypal is willing to reduce or eliminate fees. The benefit to doing this, in coordinating efforts and consolidating things, maybe into one great webpage (any web designers wanna offer?) would be fantastic.

Is that a quote from this thread or the other one? I'm confused (that doesn't take much!)
Darlene and I are working on the tickets and how to best go about getting them to everyone.
CFOGi has a list of all the club presidents I believe.

I've got a parts car and some interior parts I'd like to donate. Is there anyone coordinating pickup/delivery of parts?
CliffW is working on coordinating restoration/redonation of cars to members who have lost theirs.
FocusRush is working on building a Fiero to be donated to either a member in need or the AusFiero & Friends Raffle. Perhaps you coud contact both and see who would be a good receipient.

I am not sure what parts will be needed where. I still need to get the cars sponsered. I imagine any parts needed can be announced here. I have had to deal with flooded cars of my own. If It was not cranked or running when flooded, there should be no water in the crankcase. Electrical systems should dry out although they will need cleaning. Seats, carpets, headliners, and other interior parts are gonna be water logged and need steam cleaning. There may be damage from debris. It will be wait and see for now.
What we are needing is info from all affected members. I need to contact each of them. Would the members page be my best resource for contact info ?
By the way, from my last recollection, only two were accounted for. Exotica in Ga. and 007 at the dome (reported) Any one else ?

Let us know how it will work Jen. Capitol City Ruckus is Oct 8-9, and I, or one of the organizers will sell tickets there if you explain the process in detail. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/053711-3.html
A few ideas that non vendors can contribute to.
I saw a couple of weeks ago, that CFOG-I had some extra t-shirts from the summer event left over. An idea maybe. A bundled collection of t-shirts from EVERY show in the country as one of the prizes? Anyone want to step up and handle the collection of these? I don't guess they have to be new, just as long as they are not grungy.
I'd like to see maybe a contribution of die casts as a raffle prize. I have one to contribute-anyone else?
A set of tools to raffle off. I have some wrench sets unopened. Not much but a start. If anyone has any others to offer, I'll collect them and take care of the shipping via UPS to the winner.
CliffW-PM me your ph #.

MJ - I will definitely let you know the process as soon as we have it in place. Rob is in the process of designing the tickets and then Darlene and I will go from there.
I like the idea about the T-Shirts and other items. Perhaps you can send Aus a PM and let him know you're interested in getting some things together.
I'm sure MAFOA could donate something!

I had been thinking about this. We probably have about 20 leftover Westfest t-shirts. I'll ask our organizing group if they wouldn't mind donating some of those.

Thanks Bear. We will keep you posted on where to send them!
If each member donated $1 we'd have nearly 10k to help out our friends. Perhaps if we get an extreme amount we can donate some to Red Cross too.
Jen
Just a thought...You may receive alot more $1 - $10 or $20 donations if you don't post amounts given. Some may feel bad about sending 5 or 10 when they see that someone else sent $150.
JMHO Jim Oh....very good effort on everyones part. The Fiero community comes thru again.

Excellent point. Big fundraisers make their mark by large #s of relatively small donations. They add up.
A person's donation may do nothing more than offset the cost of a money order or paypal fee by the great volunteers that have stepped up to the plate here, but it's a valuable contribution none the less. (one of the things we don't want to do is have FGM or Jen have to foot the bill alone for handling this. Both already work full time and have families to care for in addition to this)
Okay, did you not want me to post the donation amounts? That will be fine with me, I'm just trying to cover my butt and let everyone know what we are getting in. Should I just post what we got that day and who it's from? I don't know how to go about it, I'm keeping records here, but I don't want to upset anyone if I don't check in and let you know where and what your money is doing. Although, right now it's just sitting here waiting for people to check in.
Any suggestions! Hell, I could care less if you sent a dollar........it's the thought that counts and every little bit helps!!! I don't think anyone will chastize anyone if their donation is littler than anothers. We all know how rough life can get.
We drive Fieros people.........not Porsches!!!
Hubby is home for the weekend. I'll check back later!!

We need an individual to try and locate members and let them know we are able to help. In Focus Rush's thread someone mentions there are about 15 affected members. We need someone to figure out who is still active (even if they just lurk and post occasionally) and where they are at. Some members know the real names of these people and their names can be inputted into the variety of databases available to list where evacuee's are. Any volunteers for this task? Even if you only make it your mission to find one person it will help!
I also included Anthony (Exotic Rida)'s clothing sizes in my original post for those who asked.

I am a bit confused by all the aid efforts on PFF.
I see Raffles, car donations, parts donations, etc.
This thread looks like it's the most organized, that's why I'm posting here.
I have 3 customers in the areas stricken. AFAIK, none of them are on PFF but they are Fiero owners none the less. One of them lived in the area near New Orleans. I'm sure his place is underwater but we have not been able to contact him. Another one is North of N.O. I have heard from him & He & his family headed North when they were told to leave. He & his Fiero are staying with family. The 3rd. customer is a guy from the Chicago area. His wife & He just retired this year. Last Spring they bought a house just 3 blocks from the water front (in Biloxi) & moved in in April. I'm positive his home was washed away because I've seen his neighborhood in some of the TV coverage. We have not been able to contact him, I hope he's ok. I know his V-8 Fiero is ok because he left it with me for a Finale rebody.
Anyway, what's my point?
I'm sure people we know have lost Fieros, but I'll bet there are a lot more important things on their minds right now.
I think they need $$$ & I think they need it now.
So for the next week, starting Monday thru Friday I'm donating a full 5% of all sales to the CASH fund.
So if you've been thinking about buying here's a good reason to do it now.
Archie

Thanks for posting. There are several ongoing relief efforts. All of the ones that I am aware of are listed in the original post of this thread as I am sure you have seen.
The raffle and the direct money collection are being run by the same group of people. Essentially Darlene and I are organizing the money collection and selling/helping others sell tickets for the raffle that AusFiero is organizing. I am sure he would love to have you as a donor. More info can be found here: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/054260.html
The other efforts may be included in ours or they may remain seperate - we're waiting to hear from the originators of those efforts. Either way, information on those will also be included in the original post of this thread as it is updated.
The thought was to limit this to previously existing forum members to prevent scammers, however you are certainly correct that your 3 Fiero owners are fiero owners nonetheless and I nominate that we include them in our efforts. At the rate things are going we certainly have the funds to help everyone out to some degree. If anyone objects to this please let me know, but I know we can trust Archie that these people are legitimate and certainly in need. It sounds like 2 out of the 3 certainly need immediate help and if the man north of N.O. has lost a significant amount certainly we can help him as well.
If you have contact information on these people, phone, e-mail anything send me a PM and I will get in touch with them as to where to send them a check. As you find out where they are and how they are doing please keep us posted.
Also, great idea on donating a portion of your sales! Hopefully our v8Dreamer's can use this as an inspiration to buy and help contribute to a good cause!
Jennifer

A generous amt to pledge Archie. A lot, maybe most, can't pledge or donate that much. 5% of anyone's income is a substantial amt. PPL are doing whatever they can Archie, just as you are. The raffle thing Aus started, is intended to bring in physical Fiero related items to turn into cash in the raffle. The biggest hurdle right NOW? We only know the sure whereabouts of 1 of the PFF victims of Katrina. Now matter how much we plan, this is plaguing everyone's thoughts, just as I'm sure it is your's. Where are they? How are they? We just don't know.

I think you should limit this to PFF'ers. Otherwise it will tend to complicate & dilute your efforts.
There is nothing wrong with relief efforts targeted to PFF'ers only.

I have volunteered to be the “collector” of the t-shirts donated by clubs to be included in the raffle, which Jen and Aus are organizing.
For the time being, I will catalog them and post as they are received. At a later date I will coordinate with Jen and/or Aus as to their distribution when things are finalized. This way they will be in one place and can be distributed from one point when the time comes.
Maryjane and Fierobear are contacting various clubs in their regions requesting donations of t-shirts. Any clubs or businesses wishing to donate a t-shirt for the raffle can forward to me at the following address:

goodness!--does anyone around here ever actually sleep?
Ha, ha...I've always been a nighthawk. Actually, I turned in about 9:00 tonight so I got about 4 hours, but the older I get the less I seem to sleep. Maybe that's why I'm so !
Edit: I meant last night. Guess I need more sleep.

Ha, I slept, but I'm up and trying to get ready for work. Just wanted to update this!!
The amounts have been pulled. I will update that once or twice a day. The hubby is home and he gets a bit miffed when I get on here and try to update it but I will. After Tuesday, I'll be back to my all the time in the world mode!!! He'll be back in NC. Don't for a minute think that I deserted you guys in the next few days. Just taking care of hubby!
I have a 1986 GTrear driver's side light unit..it has a small amount of de-lamination, but might be of some use to somebody...I will put it in as a minor prize for the raffle, and will pay half the shipping to the winner...I would like to pay it all, but just don't have any more funds.Let me know if you think it is worthwhile? Will just go take a picture of it... or, if anybody wants to buy it, and donate the price of its' value to you, to the collection, answer here. Nick
