Started work on the original scoop today to bring it closer to the FieRo/Yellowstone scoop specs....
The old scoop turned out ok untill the dark winter came and I used the headlights a lot. The tension of the headlight door springs caused some cracks in my vent, marked red on this side. The first scoop was put together mostly with fiberglass putty/kittyhair, forgot to think about flexing of the hood caused by these headlight door springs. I will add some fiberglass reinforcements (green) to make some kind of bracing...first I did some sanding and cutting before doing the reinforcements.

first layer of fiberglass

This will make it even more efficient...:

...playing "dentist" on the other side...

..Yellowstone, did you got some more work done?

No, I was busy today with replacing one rear tire (screw srewed it up) and with doing my front brakes (installing SS brake hoses and rebuilding calipers). One of the bleeder screws ripped off and now I have to find a new caliper QUICK. Drilling and tapping didn't work out. I have an appointment on Wednesday to get my wheels finally legal so Fiero needs to get back on the street...

All of this fiberglass work has gotten to me. I just went out and bought some mat, resin, hardener, bondo, spreader, sandpaper. I'm going to attempt to make a custom side scoop that fits where the original driver side black grill thing is. I thought I might as well start off small and do something I can "add" on without ruining anything.

Thanks for motivating me
