I know my stock 4.9 with manual could have managed at least a 14 flat if I had a better clutch.

my time with the slipping clutch was 14.6 @ 98 mph
best 0-60 I could manage was 5.8 with the same clutch, and starting in 2nd gear. btw these are all taken with a performance meter

at 98 mph I should be getting a 14 or less.

In a few months I'll get some new times with stock internals, stage 3 clutch, 75 lb weight loss, and allante intake.
I'm guessing I'll be in the mid-high 13's

hopefully the milwaukee fiero bunch will be getting together in spring for a day at the track.

Jscott1-

How does the rear bank tie in on yours?

collinwestphal-

When you say stock, you mean that it is mechanically exactly like Cadillac designed it? It's interesting, I found a post by PBJ. It said he used to shift at 6000rpm. When he shifted at or near 5400 rpms in his turbo car when it was stock internally he dropped a half second from his 1/4 mile. So I wonder if a lot of the discrepancies are from this engine just being very rpm specific. IOW, I think maybe a lot of folks try to wind it as high as they think it'll go and end up hurting their 1/4 mile times and speeds. Keep us informed as to how you do when you get your new clutch. I have a Spec Stage III waiting for mine.

You can almost see it in this shot, but I have a crossover that runs on top of the transmission that brings the front bank to the rear and then picks up the rear bank on the way down to the CAT.
