I have not done Pete's wiring trick yet but if I stomp on it I can spin easily. Feels Great
I know I Annoy has a 3.33 from a 95 Grand Prix along with the grand prix torque converter. As for the wide variety of f/d it can be changed by replacing the sprocket combination within the transmission. As Rockcrawl states there are other changes in the final drive deep in the transmission as well. I know of no one around here into hot rodding and swapping tranny sprockets and chains but I will ask around.
If I were to swap out a trans I would but in a 3.4DOHC 4T60E. along with the high stall torque converter that comes with that trans/engine combo.

Apparently I now have block learn!! My Butt-o-meter tells me that I'm quicker. Now if only Becky could give it a run at the track so we could have apples to apples comparison.

MPG is about 11 to 12 in town with "easy" driving (I'm sure i have the 2:78 trans, and my tires are the same OD as the ones that the Deville has.

ed, something is definately wrong with your fuel delivery/ computer tuning, because you should get 20-22 mpg in the city and about 28-30 mpg on the highway with a 4.9L

You have the 3.33 Right? Some how we have to get you to the track be fore adding the Power Steering circuit. and then afetr that would clear up a lot of information.

1995 Transmission Chevy Monte Carlo 6-94,3.4,Z34,3.43 101.4K 169KM 18438 US$550 CAN$660.00

OK heres the plan, Xmas is here so the wife and kids come 1st. March is our annual Vegas trip and after that it's new tranny time/stall time. Wooohoooo new things to try. I found quite a few close to me also. My friend and I had already been pursing having a custom Stall made and I was considering a 3000 RPM stall, The local shop that did his (mustang) wanted $600 to make one. .

I've been told that so many times but I just don't have any ideas left. car starts/idles/runs great, (except for a very small off-idle hesitation)

Yes I have the 3.33. As Pete stated above it is from a 95 Grand Prix. I was really hoping to get out at least once before the snow hit but that does not look possible. This summer has been a complete write off with work and having our house built. I am making plans for a small winter project once I have my garage setup. We will see you at the track for sure next summer. Should be fun.
