blah, blah, blah. . . so bring all neccessary gear. . . ie tent, sleeping bag/blankets. . . .blah blah blah. Eric
On that note, I was going to buy a tent when I get up there, but then a buddy of mine offered me his, so . . . it's a 10x10 tent, and it could fit a few people, pobably most that will be going up today, but we would have to stop and get it in Ramsey. So if you guys just want to "share" a tent, and make it easier to pack, we can bring that one. Let me know what you's guys think.
Eric

i think the plan is right now to take 10 through st cloud, that is the fastest way. even if we do drop in on ramsy i think we will still come back to 10. i'll put your numbers into the phone, in case eric doesnt see the post. and we can give you a call when we are coming up that way. if we take a different route, we'll let you know too!

Well I just seen about 5 Fieros driving into the track about a hour ago on my way to work this am. Looked to be Purple Reign, Stinger (on a trailer), GT Geff, and Kev ?......I didn't know who the other cars were.

Can't beleive no one has posted yet... but this event was awesome! Can't even begin to describe how much fun it was. I didn't have a camera up there but hopefully we'll get some pics up soon.

Fourth was Ken Anderson in a black 88GT. Like Standard said was definitely an awesome day. A total of 12 Fieros participated. The hour + we had went by wayyyyyyyyyy to fast despite my bad driving. Can't wait until next year. Jeff

Three of us went up Fri night. Myself, Mike [Standard], and Joel [justa6]. We got up there around 7:30 - 7:45. We were welcomed very warmly by Steve Olsen, the one who picked us to do this. We went on a quick tour of the pits, and then it was time to set up the tents. Went out, got some food, beer and wood. . . .for a fire. Came back and started drinking the night away in front of a very nice little fire. Went to sleep somewhere around 1 or 2.
Then somwhere around 7:30 Sat. morning, we were awakened by someone reving the piss out of their race car twice and then shut it down. Then we heard voices, "Are they up yet?" Huh? So I stuck my head out, and who do I see? Tina. Thanks Tina, but I do have an alarm clock. We get up and putz around 'til 9 when the others got there.
We had a total of twelve cars show up. Tom Glorvic, Tim Cebula [Fiero STS], Myself, Jeff [GTGeff] and his wife with the Stinger and his '88GT, Mike [Standard], Joel [Justa6] Shawn Yoraway [Purple Reign], Ken Anderson, Tina with her boyfriend Greg, and John Christoperson. We lined them up right next to the stands. They were in pretty good viewing area, but even though they were, not a ton of people came to look at them. 11:30 was getting closer and closer, and there weren't that many people in the stands. To be honest, I was getting a bit worried about if this was all going to fall apart, as far as giving the Charity rides and such. But they did their best and made a bunch of anoucements about it, so at least they were trying.
11:30 rolls around, we get out on the track, line up and take one quick pace lap to get everyone familier with track quickly. We pull back into the pit area and await for riders. I don't remeber exactly how many times we went around the track, but I do know that we had enough people wanting to take rides in our cars, that not only did we go over our hour that we were supposed to be out there [supposed to be 11:30-12:30, we went to about 12:45] But, we also had to turn down A fairly large line of people that still wanted to get a ride on the track with us. So needless to say, it went very, very well, and the cars were very nicely received. There wasn't a single person that got out of my car without a smile on their face. And I'm sure that was the way with everyone. And of course, after the rides is when people started coming over and asking about the cars.
Unfourtunatley, I had to hit the road around 3:00, as my girlfriend was helping open for Sawyer Brown, which wasn't all bad, I got to meet Mark Miller and Gregg Hubbard. So that was cool.
But all in all, I think it went great, I know all the Fiero guys up there had a blast, and I'm pretty sure all the riders had fun too.
Ok, onward with the pics:
Myself, Mike and Joel having fun with fire.
Just a neat little shot of the fronts of our cars

yeah we do, video camera out on a turn, or mounted in a car looking out the windshield.
the weekend was a blast, eric and mike, it got down to 33 that night we camped! thats why it was so cold! i guess we needed more beer and captain to stay warm that night! but anyways, i cant wait till next year, it should be a blast! maybe they'll let us run for more time on the track next year!

I went there at 1:30 on Saturday but it was $25.00 to get in and all I really wanted to do is visit with the Fiero crowd. My wife had to be to work at 5:00 the same night so it really didn't make sense paying that just to visit for a couple hours so I turned around and went home. It looked like you guys and gals had a good time though. Jeff

Hey Tina is that Greg the nice guy with the BIG Truck!!!! Tina's got a New BF.. JK...
You know you arrived at the Brainerd track when you suddenly have more choices than just the usual at the pump and the outside temp drooped from a balmy 42 in the cities three hours ago to 30 three hours later. Brrrrrrr.
Took a little bit of time searching for our campers. We were afraid that they just might be in a rather frozen state camping. And found them too ...
Seems they attempted to increase their alcohol levels to avoid/ endure the temps. Did it work guys?

They want us to be there Fri night, or very early Sat morning so we can get the cars situated and not have to move them around much. . .if at all.
Perhaps you should of added a dislaimer Would not have minded sleeping in a little myself.
Across the track

Most surprising thing I heard was when one of the track officials came up to me after it was all said and done and asked to forward compliments from the office to all of us driving the track,on how well we behaved on the track and they be more than happy to have us do this again.
I have already started discussions with Steve Olson, our SCCA host, for next year. Hopefully, we can get more Fieros out and make a Saturday Night of it. I would expect it to be bigger and better next year now that everybody knows everybody.
Steve's wife Ardis told me at work on Monday that we raised a total of $580.00 for the Children's Hospital of Minneapolis.
Great pictures Tina and Eric. Eric a big thank you for picking up the ball and running with it. Jeff

You're welcome. And I would absolutley love to do it again next year, head it up that is. We [The three of us that went up Fri. night] had just a ton of fun, and Sat was the same. It's just to bad that I had to check out early, I really did want to stay for the 'cruzin' the course, but other things called. O well, there's always next year. And maybe by then, I'll be able to keep up with people on the straights, instead of just killing them in the corners.
Eric
