Start vacation on august 4th and go back to work on august 11. This should give us Friday and Saturday at the park and the rest of the time to see family. Got to set priorities. If nothing happens then we will be taking my 86SE.

Sounds like a plan to me! I'll be there in the convertible!
Hay Mike if you go to Norwalk I would go as well. However It will be only if I can do an engine swap on my 88 and get it running good enuf to make the trip. Right now I wouldnt trust it enuf to make it. However if I get my 86 done by then I may consider taking it.... It would also depend on how well it runs after changing the engine in it and if I have the cash to make it. If your Talking about Norwalk. Wheatstock is still up in the air, however If I get my CDL by then I will find a differant job and may be able to make it anyway. Time will tell.
I got some info on the Atwood Rod Run. It is in Late May if anyone is interested. Would be a good show to invade. Yes the Focus is mainly on Old Hotrods but however the one year I went to look at the show there were a few new cars, They were stock and included A few Corvettes, a 25th Edition Camero and several other Cars.... Those who go to the event That I Told that I would be bringing a Fiero to the show have acted as if it would be welcome at the show and maby could open the show to a new class. This show has been around for over 20 years and has grown to a huge show that is made of several hundred cars.

If the weather is good count me in, I would love to take the Targa Fiero on a trip like that, even though I have the roof for the car the only time it is in place is when I store it for the winter.

We will be glad to see all of you there. Please be sure to check out www.pontiacnationals.com for event info and activites. As I have stated earlier the Fiero classes are similar to the POCI events. The mod cars are place in open classes but Fieros usally dominate most of them. Most will enjoy seeing the vintage cars run along with 5 prostock cars running on Sunday. Last year they had Warren Johnson, Jim Yates, Mark Pauwk, 2004 Champ Greg Anderson and Ron Kersher. Autographs were easy to get since they were pitting in the show area about 30 yards from the Fieros. I almost got run over my Warren while I was cleaning the front of my car. He coasted by with the engine off and suprised me. Also don't miss the pound of ice cream for a buck the track is famous for it. If anyone has questions please pm me. It will show a lot of people we are for real with a large group of Fiero's in a Pontiac show.
Sounds like a plan to me! I'll be there in the convertible!

I'll be there for sure, Cousin will be making trip again from CA with his Pontiac Digger to compete there. Pretty sure I'll take the Fiero down this year for display.
Now that sounds like a good 1st road trip for my future 88GT. who knows I might even get the swap done in time for it.. well.. thats really hopefull dreaming but ya never know.. Will there be a autocross and/or road course there? That would be an exelent way to show off the fiero's abilities...

Thanks for bring this up again! If you want to be a the best covered and largest Pontiac event this is it.
Everyone claims the Fiero is dised by the press and other Pontiac people. Well this show the Pontiac people treat us very well and the editors of the magazines spend time with us. The shame of it all is we only get 30 Fieros! If you are able and don't attend this show don't complain about Fiero coverage with either Pontiac Magazine.
I need someone to take my place here since I will be out of town on a trip for the company I work for, I will be in Nevada but my heart will be in Norwalk!
I wonder if I could talk the wife into showing my car for me?

Please keep this show in mind. If you can make only one day try for Sunday. As I have said they don't have a lot of Fiero class but they have been adding them as we gain cars.
Also if you want to let the Pontiac press know we are a large and strong group this is the place for it. HPP and PE both attend each year and are very good to our group. With more cars we should get even better coverage.
If you love Pontiac this event is more active than any other.
One side note to those attending get you 1 pound of Ice cream for a $1 on the pit side of the track. It is the best race track offer in the country on any hot day. Just ask a Cleveland Fiero member to show you where it is.

This is a great show to put on your calendar. I have gone the last 3 years. It would be great to have 100 Fieros this year! There is a coup class and a GT class plus a modified class Ames does a great job. There is a show within a show, Fiero Fever put on by the Cleveland Fieros witch I am proud to be a member of ! There are over 800 show and race cars on display. Not to mention one of the best facilities in the country. Lets make a statement 100 Fieros or bust.

Please to anyone who feel there Fiero might not be show quality still bring it. We have had works in progress attend and it was great seeing what they were working on.
If you want to race they will let you race if you register. I will make it tougher to get judged though.
All Modified cars are in a mod class or street class noted by a spread of years. But I can confirm that in all the year I have attended Fiero's hold their own well in these classes against some tough cars. We have place anywhere from 1 to all 3 places in each open class most years.
Just if you do attend please do so to show our strength of our support of the Fiero.
Our Main goal with a show of numbers is, more and better press coverage plus more classes in the future at this event. If some of us can take some hardware home it will just be bonus.

Bad news .... I will not be able to host the Cookout/Campout this year. Personal and financial reasons ........ I tried ... I feel bad ... nothing I can do about it however :-(
Please don't let that stop Y'all from attending the Ames Pontiac Performance Weekend / Cleveland Fieros Fiero Fever show at Norwalk ......... Ames, Norwalk Dragstrip, and Cleveland Fieros do a fantastic job of making Fieros and Fiero owners quite welcome !!!! The show is AWESOME !!!
Here's a little update, both of my Cousins race cars will be at Norwalk:
'65 GTO Alcohol Injected Recently took First (Bracket Class Low ET) at the Pontiac Southern National Drags In Dallas:
Pontiac Powered Alcohol Injected "Digger" took Third (blown head gasket) in Dallas:
I'll be heading down to crew for him, undecided if I'll take the Fiero down at this time.
Anyone interested in purchasing a California Emissions Legal SBC LS1 427 dyno rated at 535 HP (engine was just dyno'd) should visit his Web Site, he will be marketing it very shortly. There also some other 'hard core' parts on his site. http://www.rsbmotorsports.net/

Another update: I personally met and talked with Arnie Beswick today ( for those un-aware he was burned quite badly in a race accident last year ), Arnie and his Team are also planning to be at this event. Arnie is pretty scarred up, and tips of fingers on left hand are missing from the severe burns he received. He is in excellent spirits, and to show what a terrific person this guy is, please read his note (dated 12/21/03) on his Web Site: http://www.arniebeswick.com/news.htm
Edit: link fixed
