Thanks Cheever. Your right, it doesn't get any more plain than that.

Dave, I appreciate your opinion and how you said it without getting insulting or nasty, but you have to admit that in the car show world it is not uncommon at all to get sponsorship either with money or parts. I bet that if half the people on PFF that have show cars contacted a bunch of vendors and asked a lot of local shops and such, I bet you would all be very surprised, as I was, how many are actually willing to do something. A little here and a little there does add up
This is probably a once in a lifetime oportunity for my son and we would really like to get his car there. There wouldn't be anything cooler than having a magazine or DVD production come up and want to interview the owner of the Fast and Furious Fiero
Jordan would have bragging rights for life with that one!
I actually have to say I am very surprised by at least some of the reaction on this. If someone else had posted this I would have been "wow, thats so cool!" I doubt I could afford to help out myself but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate whats happening
Geeze people, its a car looking for sponsorship to be able to go to a big car show. Thats all.
If you can help, thats great, if not, thats fine too. It's no big deal so stop trying to make it into one.

For those interested, I will try and post some in progress pics in a few.

Well Carlisle is a fairly big fiero show. I've gone the past 3 years or so even somehow managed to place last year with my white car. I'm not sure if I'm coming this year due to bills I have to take care of and the increasing costs of making the trip. I've guess I thought if there was something I couldn't afford at that time, I'd have to wait, or miss out, to me that was "life". I respect the fact of you lookin for sponsorship, and I wish you luck with it.

For me, I guess there is a sense of pride knowing I put the car together myself, regardless if it isn't perfect or pretty. That is to say I wouldn't turn down free parts by any means if they were offered, just that I was never one to go seeking out others with an open hand...

Yep, for the price of a box of Cheerios he now has my name tattooed on his donkey.

Good for you Stimp. Geeze, and all I got were some car parts
Having your name put down in such a prestigeous area must make you very proud.

Your right about that.....FieroX was just offered a sponor. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/041408.html Why do you suppose he was offered one, while you had to....um ask.("ask" is the nicest word I can come up with, but not the most appropriate)

Hey this guy wants sponsor too......

Is anyone having a hard time accessing this thread from their group home or halfway house due to the language used in the quoted post?

[PERSONAL OPINION]

Maybe I'm allowed to get my 2c in here.

Let me start by saying I'm amazed about the number of people that always seem to have their opinion ready on things that really aren't their business. Sure, everybody has a right to voice their opinion, but there's a difference between voicing your opinion and being judgemental just for the heck of it. Apparently, some people aren't happy without conflict.

This thread is yet another fine example.

It starts with somebody simply stating he's got the opportunity to enter his son's Fiero into a show. But there are no funds because all money has been budgeted to other things. So he asks if anyone cares to sponsor him and his son.

It takes a total of 7 (seven) replies before someone jumps in passing judgement on this. And from there on, it gets worse. People jump in, passing judgement, apparantly not even caring what this is about, or caring to read the original post. From the start, the original poster has made clear money is available, but budgeted away to other things. Yet people are attacking him on the fact he is buying stuff for his Fiero, while asking for sponsorship to attend this show. Apparently, you are only allowed to ask for sponsorship when you are flat out broke...

And don't get me started on the "wait till your son has a job of his own so he can pay for it himself". Dammit people, how the hell can you pass judgement on somebody who actually cares for his kid? I don't care if Fiero5 also does this for himself. Have you seen the smile on Jordan's face? How many fathers do *you* know that spend so much time with their kid? Remarks like that make me sick to my stomach. For those of you - I hope you never, ever get kids.

And to those that are trying to turn each thread into a pissing match: get a life. Please. Or whip out your d---s, compare sizes and get it over with.

[/PERSONAL OPINION]

"Look! a fight!"
"Cool, let's fight!"
"What are we fighting for?"
"Who cares, it's a fight!"

Here are a few pics of what we have been up to the last week or so for those who are interested:

If you remember, we had taken the old crappy tan headliner out and put in a yellow fabric color one. Well, that was greeted with mixed reviews and we decided ourselves that it needed to go.
So we took the headliner back out and replaced it with what is a much better looking black material. Here is the fabric Jordan picked out all installed. A nice soft fuzzy black material:

Here are some work in progress pics:

Jiminy Christmas! 2 tv's? I'm loving it like McDonald's cookies!

Do you already have carbon fiber dash trim? It looks like it, but if you are looking for someone possible interested in sponsoring that, contact Micheal Galietti from www.kickindash.com . Send him pics with the full story, he might just go for it, being a really cool guy and all.

We have actually had those DVD screens in it for awhile now. Guess you missed that awhile back.
The carbon fiber pieces you see right now are covered with carbon fiber looking vinyl.
However, Jordans mother (LVMY88) has secretly ordered a real set of carbon fiber pieces for him which will hopefully arrive to us in time.
Thanks for the link, though at this point in the game with only two days left, what we allready have or have coming is going to be it.
I don't think anyone could get anything else to us in time now if they wanted to without paying huge overnight costs.
