I think any effort people put in their Fiero's should be called Nice! Taste will always be a discussion... I like some Babi Pangang with my Rice

* I just finished a reply when the thread was closed and the user banned...it was useless anyway

this thread proves that there is definitely a difference between rice and modding

rice = fake/stupid/pointless "modifications" see annoying

modding = making your car your car

thats my opinion at least.

if it sounds annoying, looks stupid, or is completely pointless....why bother...?

The people who come off with thier arrogant, holier-than-thou attitude that mouth off to everyone then cry matyrdom when the get flamed are the ones everyone hates and get banned.

YES!!! Precisely!
Steve- If you would have made your comment that you claim makes sense the first time in a nice intelligible way, maybe you wouldn't have been jumped on. It's totally fine to disagree! This is a forum. Forums are here for discussion. You just seem to be an @ss and can't have a mature discussion...
You don't agree with me? FINE! You think my car's ugly? FINE! You don't like anyone else here? FINE!
Just be decent about it and it'll all be FINE!!

imo what i may not like on your doesn't take away my respect for all the work time and money you put into it. all that matters is the car came out how you wanted it to and your happy with the results. as my father used to say "one mans meat is another mans poison" case in point theres a geo metro around here that is just to funny to me ie; alumnum wing 4 inch exhaust ip raceing stripe excetra. i know he put time and money in i personally don't like it but it's not my car. iknow i'll get lash back but thats my oppion.

Like Steve as an example... instead of simply stating that he doesn't like Oslo's wing, he feels the need to bash anyone that doesn't share his pure hatred for things that he doesn't like. Need more examples? I've got a few links stored up!

True, you have a point. The thing with me is a lot of times when I state my opinion it comes off negative but if we were face to face it wouldn't come out like that, you know what I mean? I say a lot of things jokingly but its hard to tell on the net. Maybe I need more internet forum training

Yeah, I know what you mean... it's difficult to express emotion with text - so what you need is a good arsenal of smilies!

You know, I saw a Tempo four-door with those fake side-pipes stuck on just ahead of the front doors. There wasn't quite enough room between the wheel arch and the door seam so it kind of "bends" outward a bit at the back when the doors are opened....

General consensus (that I've been able to tell, anyway) is that "rice" is the appearance of a fast car while "modding" generates a car that's actually fast. Shooting vapor out of a hole in your hood (when it's not actually a nitrous system that you're purging) is rice. And I think it's damn funny, too...

2 things:

1. It really is a shame when we lose a quality member like Steve Gibbs...

2. I'm glad that the majority of people on this forum finally understand what rice is! edhering put the nail in the coffin! Absolutely!
