toms...
Is this a white car with "Banshee" on the side?? If it is, then I know some of its history! It had all of the super duty stuff, except for the block itself.
Just curious.

I just did a check on eBay and found the auction. It's the very same car! I talked with the owner of this Fiero years ago.....he had this car advertised in the Rocky Mountain News (Denver paper) and he lived in the same town that I did (Brighton).
This Fiero was built on a base '84 coupe.....it has the solid dark gray interior and is/was flawless. The paint was iffy back then (early 90's) and I imagine that it is just as bad (if not worse) today. For some reason the car sat outside all of it's life (uncovered at that)......what a shame. I believe the body was very nice....some fiberglass was cracked, but nothing serious. The engine ran at the time I saw it, but it was horrbly out of tune (I actually got to drive it!). The rear tires were trashed and it had less than 4000 miles on them at that time.....I'm glad to see he replaced them (they were down to the cords when I drove it). The wheels are 3-piece Gotti's and are HUGE. They're a bit outdated by today's standards, but can you imagine them 20 years ago??
This car is screaming for a restoration with HMS's wide track coilover suspension, rebuilt engine, etc. and a new paint job. I personally would keep it original, as it is painted now, but it's not mine, is it?
I still have a pictureof it that he gave me when I drove it.......it's not the greatest, but I will try to scan it in and post it sometime soon.
He also had a lot of literature on the Super Duty......did you get this stuff with the car??
BTW.....you got a great deal at $3850. Back in '92 or '93 (can't remember exactly when I met him), he wanted around $10,000!
He states that he owned it for 13 years.......this sounds about right. I also remember when this car was up for sale before he bought it.......it was advertised for $15,000 back then (I have no idea what the current owner paid for it, but it was north of $10,000.
Anyway, great find! If I had seen that ad I would have bought it myself! I was seriously contemplating it back in the early 90's, but I was still paying off my first '88 GT and couldn't afford it.

HOLY MONKEY *no pun intended* Mr. Fiero! i want to know all the naughty bits that you can tell me about this cars history! as well as any pictures you have of it back then!!!
Wow, it is a small Fiero world indeed!
The guy i bought it from said he has a lot of extra parts and stuff to give me when i pick it up. i like the sound of that.....
anyways, what was it like when you drove it? was it so out of tune that it was no fun to drive? was it carb'ed when you drove it, or had he already added the F.I.
Notafieroanylonger, we are leaving early friday morning, if we haul arse we should make it there saturday afternoon. let me know if you find a good time where my wife and i can possibly drop by, let me know. would be cool to meet you

oh and, i fully intend to restore this car, and most CERTAINLY keep it original. I may tune up the susspension as you suggest. if i can not get the F.I to tune i may go back to a carb set-up. the only thing with the engine that i plan to change is put my REAL SuperDuty engine in there
The Paint sceme will stay the way it is, white/red/grey but i will definately be getting a new coat on her. I would also like to add the original "BANSHEE" stickers to it once it is painted (something the guy i bought it from wanted to do years ago) The interier looks very fresh, but i will be reverting it back to the original 84 in the areas that were altered, like the shifter/guage plates. And the grey buttons/window switch's plate's that are supposed to be black, will be so again.
I will have to ask him about the steering wheel. it looks like it was added recently, but if it was actually part of the Banshee conversion then it will stay. otherwise i shall try to find the wheel that it is supposed to have. who knows, he may still have it!

It is amazing, isn't it? I'll have to dredge of some distant memories of this car, so give me some time. You pretty much got the gist of what I know about it though.

It was carbed at that time......the FI stuff was in teh trunk. It drove OK.....I only went around the block since it wasn't driving very well. It was very low on power because of the fuel issue, but it seemed like it would have been a blast when everything was worked out.

The picture I have shows the sticker very clearly, so you can see exactly where they were placed. I can't imagine the interior being any different than when I saw it.....it looked like a brand new car! I don't remember there being the '88 bezels at that time, but it is possible that I just forgot. I agree with your choice to re-install the correct '84 parts and I am glad that you will keep the "original" paint configuration as well.

Hmmm.....I don't remember an aftermarket steering wheel being on it. My memory of it was that the entire interior was 100% factory Fiero. The picture that I have (unfortunately) does not show the interior. If I had thought about it back then, I would have taken a lot of pics. Sorry!
Here's something for you.....I *might* (and that's a BIG might) actually have one of the newspapers with the ad for this car when it was for sale back in teh early 90's. I used to keep stuff like that, but may have tossed it. I'll need to search through boxes of junk, but I will see if I still have it (that would be an interesting item to keep with the car).
Take it easy and post pics of it when you get it home!

there is a lot of rubber on the ground in the rear
got a couple cool models with the car
the interier is near perfect! all that is needed is the reinstalling of some original 84 nicknacks that were changed out with 88 parts. the original steering wheel is behind the passenger seat.

i still cant believe the miles on the car...unbelievable. (documented even)
tried to get a pick of the turbo setup. pretty dirty under here from sitting, it will need a big time clean up and detailing.
i have started it up and WOW this thing does NOT sound stock....more like a Stockcar, heh. it rumbles! it is running a bit rich so i need to figure out the fuel system so i can adjust it without going too lean. i wont try to tackle booste yet.
....not sure the statement below is even possible with this car

Wow. THAT, is one PHAT (like literally) Fiero. Just awesome! Talk about rare Fiero, and the interior does look really nice! Hopefully that turbo spools and boosts nicely too. If not, bigger turbo here we go!
You should bring it that one to the Dell's this year!

havent seen one screened like this before. the front intake and fender flare vents are similarly screened
and this one's functional
i have an abundance of original reproduction "Banshee", "Turbo" and trim stickers that came with the car, as well as many, MANY extra freebie parts, documentation, and magazines the owner gave me that werent offered in the auction!
The car has BEEFY sway bars front and rear, as well as full polly bushings all the way around, including the cradle bushings. The really has been my dream car ever since i got to know all about Fieros. I am very happy
