I forgot the story about choptop pull over.
I was leaving Chicago and V8Archie was showing me the way from I-55, anyway I gas up at the Shell station and there is a cop sitting there in the car. Archie notices him, I didn't. Maybe because I was all happy to drive it. As we left the station the cop hits the lights, I pull over and heres the story:
officer: I pulled you over for expired tags.
Me: Yes I know officer, thats why I have a temporary tag in the window.
Officer: where?
Me: You dont see that big red tag in the rear window?
Officer: We dont allow those here in Chicago.
Me: Well they do in California.
Officer: (changes the subject) So why are here?
Me: I'm with some friends ( I look in the direction of Archie sitting in the truck).
He let me go after looking around inside the car through the driver's side.
What a load of crap! If he could see the little tag on the plates, surley he would notice the 4 x 6 inch red tag in the window.
But my main gripe is that "they" break the law by tring to intrap non-racing guys.
1. They speed-up while following you tempting you too race (somethings in unmarked cars). Who cares if your going the legal speed.
2. They romp on their gas while behind you especialy at night, tying to make you romp on your gas. Out in CA there is a law on the books about "aggresive desplay of power" not the exact wording but if your romping on the gas showing off, its a ticket, never mind them romping on their tying to make you bite.
3. While their tying to tempt you, some thief is stealing or breaking in your house!
I notice when I'm with friends who have vetts, porsches, or Mercedes this goes unnotice...mmm?
