Sounds impressive (no pun intended). Any pics? I'm especially interestd to see the DVD install. How about a LINK to your cardomain.com page? Thanks...

www.cardomain.com/id/fierce_gt not really any good pics there. I plan on redoing everything this may. I don't have the 3rd amp or screen installed yet. The amps are behind the seats, the sub passenger footwell(fibreglassing a new box), and the screen will be flush mounted(hopefully behind a sliding panel) in the dash where pocket is now.

I realize my install looks deceptively plain and simple, nothing flashy about it. Here's a schematic of the system. Physically, there's ALOT more wires.

I'm putting in 2 JL 10W0's on a Memphis 250D Amp (May not sound like lots, but really REALLY clean and rock solid)
And Excursion custom kicks (seperates) with tweets installed.
In the works (need money) are:
-DVD player with drive in console -JL Components all around -JL Amp instead of Memphis (as much as i cream over that amp, JL sponsorship rocks my world) -JL W3's instead of W0's -Redoing the kicks to make the soundstage more accurate. -center channel
Ya i know i got a while, but when i get money, hell yeah!
PS - I do part time work for a custom shop, so i get it all cheap :P
Very ncie Fiero sound, I have yet to see those pics, I am very impressed and I like it, check out my site, and was curious, anything on Fierosound.com? I have not a word, lmk and thanks Kent
I vote one for fiero sound, if u didnt know fieros, u would never know he had an aftermarket system (other than the deck). That install is the most trick, KLEEN, and stealth, install ive ever seen. And Very impressive SPLs, and quality to go along with it. Right on man.

I have to give Fierosound the nod. He was doing "bring your favorite CD" demos at the 20th. My favorite "shakedown" track sounded absolutely flawless. Then he brought out some of his own demo discs. Similar the ones they use to judge competitions. OMG!!! This has got to be about the cleanest system I've ever heard. Including home systems. And the installation is nothing short of spectacular.
He picked up two more trophies last week at the 20th, btw.
I had a great time at the 20th. I also got 1st in install along with Tony (FieroSound). He does have a nice set up, you can see it in the time he spent on it. I don't know if they turned in a S.Q. sheet for me, I have the install judge sheet but not the S.Q. sheet. Anyway, I was wondering who stoped by to see my set up at the 20th? Here is a update pic on the DVD.
Thanks, Chris. P.S. will be in Vegas next weekend.

Hey FieroSound, did you pay full (or close to) retail on your amp? Cause I know roughly what they're worth...and damn...take a second mortgage out on your house?

The sound image in my GT is dead center, and the 1200watt RMS DDaudio sub compliments in well in a custom footwell sub box. I must go on a road trip for people to attest to it. I've had it for about a month, so I haven't made it to any shows or meets yet. I'll be at the 20th Anual show, Auburn show, and the next Fierorama. Is WHEELS1 going to any of those shows? I know it's apples vs. oranges competing with a stock interior. I'm not disqualified, am I?
P.S. I'm definately not the best for a DB drag... I thought we were talking about sound quality? :P
Greg
I saw this car on the "Luna Park Thrill Ride" website that I can't find anymore. Doesn't it have a front compartment bandpass box with the ports ducted into the footwells?
Are you the builder, or did you buy it?

FieroAudio US$825 refurbished by Macintosh with 1 year warranty. These 6-channel amps show up on eBay once in a while.
I was at the 20th and got a chance to listen to fierosounds system, also go a chance to hear it when he was here in winnipeg too. conclusion, best sounding system i've heard in any car, ever. my personal tastes require more bass, but it was set up beautifully, and i have no doubt that it could handle my bass requirements, they just aren't technically "proper". i have heard many home set ups, and have to say it compares to any stereo set up i've heard. maybe not the best, but the fact that's it even close is amazing. not sure if he has the dolby digital or dts surround sound in there(i did notice a centre channel) and it's not really fair to compare music coming from a dvd over surround sound to music from a cd over stereo. the one thing that REALLY impressed me was that i could FEEL everything, and it seemed as thought most of the car was shaking, but i didn't hear even the slightest rattle ever! that's really hard to do. so now i have a question, what did you do to soundproof? if i didn't open and close your door myself i would swear that you poured sand inside them. i also go the chance to look at wheels1's system. which was much closer to my personal taste, meaning he has dvd and more toys and set up a little "louder"(strong highs and low instead of flat). It was a very nice system, and install. but i think fierosounds is more comparable to a good home install, while wheels1 is a great car install. tough call, my vote goes out to fierosound. the stealthness is too hard to pass up.

My system is tuned for a balanced sound (which is what SQ is all about), but a couple tweaks on the controls in the amplifier or equalizer would boost the bass and treble so that it would "sound right" to you. The system has a lot of tuning capability.
As you mentioned, Audio CDs are stereo only, so a DTS decoder would not do anything, nor do I have a surround processor to "fake it". The center channel is a left+right summed mono configuration, and it's purpose is to fill the "hole" that would exist in the front sound stage.
Soundproofing is fairly basic and is covered in my install pages at www.fierosound.com Basically, Dynamat on door panels, dash structure, roof panels, back of dash itself. Cheaper sound deadener on rear firewall and floor. Hollow windshield pillars and frame rails (under door sill plates) have expanding foam insulation in them.
Thanks again...

Thanks Al. It fools everyone because it looks like a "nice stock Fiero with nice wheels" on it. Meanwhile, it has that high-end stereo system, and that 3.4L roller-cam engine with Supercharger.
Half the Fiero OWNERS at the 20th didn't pick up on that. All they had to see was the pipe to the TB to know "something's different", but many didn't notice anything. Even add-ons can be made to "look factory", and THAT'S the trick.

i know this pry doesn't count, but if we're goin for spl, i think my ranger wins. i had a single 8 in a footwell box with a smaller amp. i was runnin some decent speakers with an ok head unit. but unfortunately the fiero is on hold due to my growing fascination with spl.
im runnin 3 12" eclipse subs, and i should be picking up my new xtant 1001 amp sometime in the next two weeks hopefully.
Makes you wonder how those cheap brands the size of a phone book make 1000 watts. (Answer: most don't)
[This message has been edited by fierosound (edited 08-24-2003).]
There are digital amps now, I had a 2000 watt digital and it was less than the size of a phone book and weighed less than one too, but still cost 2k, and more than put out the 2000 watts it was rated!

Cool. I referred to most cheap brands not living up to their ratings. What brand/model did you get? Is there a website?
The only "Digital" amp I know of is the Alpine AccuClass-D mono amp. The other maufacturers now use the word "digital" as a marketing ploy, same as putting "digital" on the box speakers come in. Even this Alpine has an analog buffer at the front end to adjust the input signal to a tolerable level for the 24-bit A/D. From there, the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) gives the user all the control in the digital domain (which has LOTS of advantages), and then outputs a PCM (I2S) signal directly into the modulator/controller. There, it is converted to PWM for amplification (all in the digital domain), and is only brought back to analog through the output filters. It is still analog in/analog out.
