Hi Joe,

The upper body panels are basically fiberglass (Not true fiberglass but close enough for the insurance company.) and the lower body parts are urethane.

When am I going to see that sweet 88 GT you just got?

NOOOO! There is no fiberglass on the Fiero! The fiberglass looking stuff (what the decklid, hood and roof are made of) is SMC or sheet molded compound.....it is a plastic, not fiberglass.

The rest of the body is either RIM or RRIM, which is reaction injected moding or reinforced reaction injected molding (basically urethane).

On your application check off "other" and write plastic!

Body panels are injected urethane, hood and decklid are sheet molded compound(SMC) and I can't remember what the fascia's and roof are.

[edit]Guess SMC isn't like fibreglass [/edit]

I think I will go with plastic. As a Corvette owner I know how the Insurance is on a fiberglass body.

SMC (Sheet Molded Compound) makes up the hood, roof, rear upper quarter panels and rear decklid. RRIM (Reinforced Reaction Injection Molding) makes up the fenders, doors, and lower rear quarters. RIM (Reaction Injection Molded Urethane) is used on the Facias. TPO (Thermo Plastic Olefin) is used for the Rocker Panels. All Fiero panels are painted with High Solids Acrylic Enamels and covered with a clearcoat.
