My name says FIERORICE.. I think any FIERO with an extruded hood (corvette style) is rice. Also, yes, even though Tabs car looks sweet the rice lights qualify it as rice for me.
That white one above with the ugly wing has some sweet tails though...

Who's bickering??? I didn't notice any hostility here, just opinions. The Asian component, according to what I've read in Sport Compact Car and on the net, is the origin of the derogatory terms of Ricer, Riceboy and any other derivatives of the root word. That's why I don't use those words. It's really a no brainer anyway. Anyone can see the connection between nomenclature and race. Now, if there is a better explanation of origin, I'm game...
I was in Japan last year. Do you know what I saw on there streets. Vintage american mucle cars. 396SS El Caminos, Shelby Mustangs etc. Didnt see any of the stuff you call rice.

Here is the face of pure enjoyment Can't argue with that
You've got a point! He's also in love with a fiero, can't argue with that either. Has he become addicted to the forum yet? Or have you been on it so much he hasn't had a chance to get addicted? Matt

An internet forum is not his thing right now, though he always asks if anyone else has said anything, preferably nice, about his Fiero on here

No harm intended...I hope you didn't take it as such. Like you said, to each his own. Guys I work with are constantly giving me crap about driving a Fiero, but that doesn't slow me down any!
Wow,impressive. I would not call that rice. It looks all functional. Now if it was a Duke I might change my opinion. You got to appreciate the work that went into that. Fender and nose looks to be a blended together. Now if I could only do work like that.

That belongs to Johnathan Watts. Last know residence Harrisburg, PA. That is him in the backgroung of the first picture. He shows up every now and then. He was at the GM Nationals last year with his wife's car, a TA.
BTW: It has a Northstar.
Those wheels are custon 18" about $2K each. All body and paint work done by himself.

Rice=making your car look like crap or imitate a jap car.
I can understand some modifying and modifying to make it look good. But ricing it out is an eye sore.
The one pic had a fiero with a spoiler high enough to make it look like it was in the NHRA.
It just looks stupid and its useless, how many fieros or ricers are gonna be going faster then 200mph? Nascar even doesn't have spoilers that big.
I wonder what people are thinking when they decide, hmmm i gonna put this big spoiler on my car so it can be kewler then my friends ricer. Or it's a race car now, eventhough they have no idea about real racing. No wait, its going in and out of traffic and if you dont get pulled over, then your considered a winner.
Ive seen idiots with acuras thinking their fast. I can keep up until i reach the speed limit and i proved my point. But they think they are fast when they can go 20 over the limit. typical ricer thought process.
But its embarrassing seeing an american car riced out. If someone wants to do that, buy a jap and keep it to that car cause u wanna be in the "trend". Im trying to fig which trend is worse low riders or ricers. Seems like the low rider community puts more effort into the cars ive seen.
I guess i have to suffer and no more "to each his own" quotes
