Stock 1988 Formula with a 5-speed, pedal to the floor, on a 6 mile run over a dry lake bed = 123.77 mph with no wind (SCTA timed). (ambient tempurature outside was 81 degrees).
In a stock 4-speed Indy (with a 120 speedo spliced in temporarily) 105 MPH flat out. Not officially timed, so give or take 2 mph for speedo error.
1984SE With 1995 3100SFI V6 and Isuzu 5SPD, Along with apache rear wing, Trans Am hood vents, very healthy factory suspension. Have paced my buddies 85 Corvette up to 140 MPH then passed when he refused to push it any more. Oh yea and home made front valence. This on empty highway in middle of the night with someone running blocker 2 miles ahead.

My '88 Coupe with the 2.5L Duke and Isuzu 5 spd will cruise at 85 MPH @ 3000 RPM.. No idea what the top speed is 'cuz the speedo only goes to 85 (I guess I could figure it out with the Tach, knowing the tire size and overall gear ratio).
My 5.7L GTA has been up to 145 MPH (In Montana before they had speed limits )

I dont know what is all done to my 2.8, or if it is even a 2.8 anymore, but I smoked an 86GT with a 3.1 in it. I know I hvae a larger throttle body, but other than that, no clue... I had no information on the car when I bought, the guy didnt even know it had an alarm system.
I have a 140KMH gauge, and I had it wrapped back to 0. I dunno how fast that is... 190 KMH? That is the only and last time I am doing that too, roads suck around here.

I had the same problem, Preditor. I have an 88 GT and it just didn't feel right at 85. I am going to have an alignment and bushing check done and see. Has anyone ever run with the front hood unlatched to let the air press out? I know that sounds a little weird but the airflow across the top might hold the hood down to a "Kilroy was here" height!
Sincerely????

I only had the balls to bring it up around 115mph (my tires were getting old). I don't know about anyone else but when I go 90+ it still feels like I'm doint 65mph. I guess it could be due to my suspension etc.

The cops are probably getting ready to write out and mail us all tickets ya know?
With my tweaked 2.8 & getrag, I feel safe (?!) pulling 140 in 3rd, 190 in 4th, and then I run out of road and speedo, but it keeps pulling up to what I figure would be 230 or 240 in 5th.

I think Watts is talking in KILOMETERS PER DAY.

So if I admitted here to killing a guy, they wouldn't drop by and arrest me?? Cool! heh...
But to be on the safe side... Uhhh... yeah, I was talking about distance travelled in each gear! Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket!
I have a nice little 1/2 mile stretch of dead straight road (no cross streets, industrial area, etc) that I use as a little 'test track' down the road from me. I can get the Fiero up to about 210 or so - or I can bury the 270 speedo on my bike.
